Re: Permanent Imprisonment Over Murder Resulting From No-no Words Involving Reptiles
Lynching over L word usually involves more than one person doing the lynching.
You're already taking a small portion of players who not only know they can but are willing to actively lynch someone for saying L word
and giving them a common threat as soon as a single security rawrfficer pulls out his stun baton or disabler. (they are about to be shoved and grabbed a thousand times and have their gear taken from them)
Its not going to result in the same fluoride stare that revs see when their teammates are getting beat on because the vast majority of those players would not be in this situation, there will be a group of people who are literally in the same boat after killing someone that they know they are allowed to kill and are the type of players that actually take that kind of action.
And even if security is successfully permabrigging them or something, thats going to escalate further as soon as word gets out on radio that security permabrigged x for lynching someone who everyone was entirely allowed to kill.
Also there are automatic pardons in space law like murder being fine if killing an enemy of the corporation or mutiny being automatically pardoned if it was an incompetent or malicious head of staff that was lynched (which could have just been them saying L word)
So if security did act on this and enough people argued and believed that space law was not on security's side there would definitely be a sec vs crew round.
Also space law is harsher on murder because its vigilante stuff but a group of people lynching someone without sec or command authorization literally is a mutiny, multiple people breaching the chain of command to get rid of someone which is a way it could be considered pardoned without needing a head of staff to be the one being lynched.

i think saying it in general should warrant a ban, idc, its literally just the n word with the first letter replaced. why fight so hard for a word that is quite literally just a racial slur, be real dude

How about every Lizard gets one "L-word" pass at roundstart. They can give the pass to any non Lizard. If someone says the word without the pass there's some special examine text that they look guilty or like they said something they shouldn't have.

You had to dig for one instance on one thread.ColonicAcid wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 11:39 pm Thanks for playing, but that only searches OPs.
Took me five seconds to search the top thread of /CPG/ and I found it.

Compare that to boards that actually represent the optics of 4chan like /pol/ or /b/.
Also reconsider arguing over the usage of the n-word.

Oh right, then I think it depends on context. 'cos maybe the secoff didn't know, or only heard from someone that "it's fine they said the L slur"Archie700 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 12:25 amRead the topic again. It's about security arresting people for murdering someone who said the l-word.conrad wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 11:28 pm Uh, saing ligger makes you valid.
Valid means your ass is no longer your own.
You aren't even allowed to fight back. This isn't free escalation bait.
An admin deciding to ban a secoff for "unlawfully" arresting someone who said ligger is insane. Provided they don't do shit and vomit swirlies nobody should ever care what happens.
Bonus points if the secoff used the medbay area of security to nugget them.
I wouldn't punish a secoff over this lack of information (i.e.: not knowing the guy said ligger but actively seeing someone being murdered).
I am torn though whether it'd make sense to actively let the secoff know the guy is in the clear, since validhunting someone that says ligger is already an OOC bandaid, but it also breaks immersion for that secoff.

Re: Permanent Imprisonment Over Murder Resulting From No-no Words Involving Reptiles
So I am in a website called /tg/station and I am being told about the website where said /tg/station hails from has changed to become digg, to which I say no it hasn't and I know because I still use /tg/ and I still see the usual suspects saying nigger and faggot, so I get some new friends be extremely smug and say that 4chan has changed and maybe its not what it used to be, even though it's clear that they do not use the website and have no idea what the search feature actually searches. And now me putting them in their place means I am apparently defending the usage of the n word.
You are welcome to re read my posts without a) really angry over literal words and b) being extremely smug. I don't agree with MSO on most of his opinions, but I do agree with what he said in regards to people being extremely angry over words on the internet is very performative. If reading the n word fills you with rage but you do nothing in real life to combat racism then you do not actually care about racism, you merely care about doing the correct steps to make yourself socially fit with whatever communities you are a part of.
Once again, I didn't really want to write this, I'm derailing the thread, but something about how smug you were has really done me in.
