John began this thread with a modernist view of the /TG/ station sociosphere, taking issue with perceived incompatibilities of recent developments with prior iterations of the values reflected in the /TG/station project. Through a post ideological lens, we find that the abstraction of the /TG/station project and the unique politics of this 'community' act as a sufficiently unique substrate for supporting the psyche of postmodernist psyches who have failed at providing adequate conviction in more traditional forums (ie. real politics) and which instead seek to satiate their need for justification to bear the pain of life through a 2d spaceman simulator. A critical population of these 'leeches' could in theory kill their host as the ailing postmodernist will invariably seek to root itself further in the project regardless of whether or not its involvement in the project is beneficial.
