I don't think I should be appointed headmin either if I want such big changes to the server. Players have to want it.

I mean I'm sure I could do a fine job working as headmin in the current ruleset/atmosphere and not rocking the boat too much but I don't really like it enough to want to put in that much work.

I think the AI having a flawed lawset like asimov has the potential to cause non antag conflict, which is a good thing. It's also the only thing that stops the AI from going full on antag hunter (though it mostly does that anyway). I think a 4th law governing lizards should be added by default instead of server rules dictating the AI behavior, doesn't feel right.

As to executions it obviously has to. How it interferes/why security is executing the guy/how it's appropriate for security to react are all dependent on context.

Killing a nuke op in the middle of the station going to shit and the sec borg decides it needs to arrest the captain/security force? Sure ion rifle it. Cultists teleporting out of jail and holy water no where to be seen, and the AI decides it needs to to stop you? Sure kill it.

Captain announcing the public execution of the clown for lubing all the halls, or an arrested traitor for having an emag or whatever? Probably not okay to murder the AI when it reacts by bolting security down.

I mean ideally security would be subtle about it and the IC incentive of having the AI on your side would be enough to stop stupid loud executions, but I know some jacksass would just beat prisoners to killbait borgs every round if there were zero restrictions on how you could react.

tl;dr if the execution is under duress/and or necessary and you don't have another way of dealing with the borgs (the upload/RD console are not reachable, the AI keeps unlocking the borgs to attack you, whatever) they're fair game, but security shouldn't be baiting the AI in the first place if avoidable. You shouldn't be obligated to let the borgs permabrig you but you shouldn't be kill baiting either.

Kind of late into this but here are my plans for policy changes.

1. I will come up with some dumb idea
2. I will make a forum thread articulating the idea, what problems I think it addresses, and what problems I think it may cause.
2a. I will request said thread be largely unmoderated. If you want to call me a fucking retard that's cool, I just will probably not carefully consider such feedback
2b. I'll reserve posts 2/3 for pasting whatever HG and Sticky want said near the top if they went to participate
3. After everyone is done yelling at eachother I'll take the proposed change to adminbus (assuming it was at all well recieved) for the headmins to vote on
4. I'll update the OP with the results, and who voted which way and why

Basically I will try to let players have a voice in the decision making before stuff happens, not after

Although I think literally any other player candidate would be up for that deal too.

Make sure no one finds out though we need to do this quick enough that mso doesn't notice. I don't think he checks the forum often so we should be fine.

They will absolutely be valid. The only reason to kill pets is to piss off other players, the admins shouldn't be shielding griefers from player response.

It'd make more sense to ban the behavior than to ban people for reacting to it (not that I think banning something like that is a good idea)

I've had a growing sense of unease about this as it drew closer. Several people have urged me to drop out for my own sanity and they're probably right. It might go well but dealing with irc drama for half a year if it doesn't just doesn't sound appealing. I dont have faith in myself to finish the term the more I think about it. I also feel very at odds with the current community the more I play. I think I'd just end up upsetting myself and other people. There are other areas of my life I should put this energy. Better I quit now than burn out halfway through

Sorry to anyone who had faith in me. I'm sure some of you saw this coming anyway
