Shoot, would sec need badges differing depending on what kind of cases they work?

It would sort of be like playing in one of the wards of a 40k spaceship.

What about Atmos? An enormous jungle of pipes, filled with gas masked savages wielding fire axes and swinging from pipe vines?
'Pipe autists' has never been a more suiting term.

Hundreds of miles of pipes snake through the impassable Atmosian Jungle, the inner workings of which are long lost even to the natives of the region. Only perhaps the wizened elders of the tribes have even the slightest inkling of where failed projects end of vital systems begin. There is an almost machine-cult-esque view on the networks, with their attendants praying to a select handful of gods to show them how to properly reconfigure pipes. Ironically, the status has become both a blessing and a curse - The setup is so complex is defies any attempt at sabotage. Cyborgs short-circuit trying to make sense of the loops. Conversely, were something serious to ever go wrong... There is doubt that even working united the denizens of the department could repair it.

I just like to imagine a police station wherein everyone monologues constantly.

Just on paper.

But seriously, the space station 13 universe lends itself so well to the themes and feeling of a massive dystopian bureaucracy that this just feels like a natural extension of it. I'd imagine that Nanotrasen HQ somewhat resembles what has been described.

Hordes of Bureaucratic Assistants alone are needed to carry the massive stacks of folders and stamped documents to the poor Adjutant Heads of Personnel who slave away 24/7 to validate the endless flow of stamped, unstamped, legit, and forged documents from Cargo, RnD, Engineering, Security, and every department in between.

The suicide rate is immense among the command staff, who occupy the only large area of the station to maintain order- the Bridge-Complex. Dozens of Law, Personnel, and Staff offices grind the gears of bureaucracy.

Documents from sectors and departments long overrun by hordes of Assistants, Xenos, and Vines arrive everyday and are filed away, taking months, or even years to be addressed.

How many thousands of stamped and painstakingly scrutinized documents arrive in long defunct and dead departments on the overpacked backs of SUPER-MULE transport platforms every day? Massive heaps of rotting paper stacked before the overgrown and burned our blastdoors of vacuum-exposed sectors- with only rats to chew at them and a few half-mad Assistants to gather them to burn for warmth.

This would be so, so fantastic.

If we scheduled a MEGASTATION event in advance, and advertised it to the playerbase of a few other servers, how many people do you think we would get?

Don't think our hardware could handle it. Although some kind of event where we can cross over between stations would be cool, i think somebody once said the idea was feasable

With different levels being different servers, that sounds possible but there's too many things to account for.

Holy shit imagine xeno rounds with this.

Literally 15 gygaxes mowing down (and swapping out to recharge) several hundred xenos rushing down a 3 tile wide hall like an endless horde.

I WANT THIS SO BAD.

Gygaxes, no. Durands, no. Phazons...maybe.

Although I have seen a particularly dedicated roboticist on Bay output almost a dozen Durands in one round, so...we could up the number even higher.

I kind imagine there would be vigilante assistants and such roaming the station too, fighting both the grey tide And security. Probably as organized or more so than the roaming bands of sec thugs.

Steelpoint wrote:The map would probely be a multilevel space station with each level dedicated to one certain function. So you have the Engineering Level at the bottom, and the Command Level at the top. There would be civilian sectors and whatnot as well.

There would also undoubtedly be more command level roles.

For example, from a Security perspective, you would have the Captain at the top, followed by a Head of Security who commands the entire department. Then you would have Captain Security Officers who command all of Security for one certain level, so you have the Chief Engineering Security Head or something. Then you would have Sergeants or Squad Leaders who command a squad of Officers.
So roughly like this.

Time to bust out my shitty fanfic writing skills!

Tomorrow, I have to sleep now. Someone PM me a list of spacemanish names that nobody uses.

It is the year 2552, this is the story of how Nanotrasen finally managed to go to far.

Brilliant.

This sort of thing would make for an amazing MMO, have the basics set up and the just allow players to add more and more to it until the whole thing breaks the most powerful servers. Dedicated cluster for the atmos system.

The derelict has probably been fully colonised and possibly equipped with bluespace artillery. Space Cold War ensues. Or just regular Space War.

the derelict is ligger central
just like lavaland (ripperoni asteroid i miss you) is the site of an eternal struggle between the ludicrously well-equipped survivors of science and cargonia's miner deathsquads

actually speaking of ligger central
i wonder what would become of the nonhuman population

genetrash would be purged and/or surgically humanised

plasmemes would kill half the station becaused greyshits don't realise stripping them is bad
some of their bodies would be used as campfires to sit around in maint and swap stories of security encounters

flies would need to wear masks all the time or else risk getting swatted
then get swatted anyway because >wearing masks all the time

golems share the fate of their science masters and/or build a free golem theocracy in the mines
podpeople become the secret overlords of botany

lizards, if security, are probably used as shock troops
no baton, no taser, just a suit of armour and a fuckton of stims

non-sec lizards were pogromed almost as hard as cats i imagine
survivors have formed tribes roaming maint in search of grey meat or else fucked off to the derelict

and through it all the space hotel has stayed open for business

but seriously i imagine the atmosphere to be something like metro 2033 in space

Hidden away behind several false walls sucking nutrients from pipes, an ostracized librarian has become a hermit orator to the drones. Telling them stories from the old days before his library was put to the torch. The drones tolerate him because he doesn't pick them up and gave them a cool hat once. In return, they don't (can't) lynch him for his awful stories. Despite his poverty, he remains perhaps among the safest of the crew, with his home and surrounding environment constantly repaired by the endless chittering tide of drones.
