dude defied his own condition and lived until 76 when he realistically should have been dead over half a century ago, and lead a happy life in spite of it all
if that isn't inspiring, I don't know what is

I think the flu likes me too much.
Either that or there's an even worse reason for everything in my head to tilt sideways after a while. Now if only I could get it tilting in one consistent direction.

I guess it's time to make a doctor's appointment for melatonin.
Even if you don't get melatonin the doctor should be able to help, I wish you luck my guy

I wandered into the Toys R Us near work today because they had a closing down sale and I thought I might find a joke gift for my mum's birthday.
I'm not surprised the cunts are going out of business, ten quid for a plushie beagle

Grad School is going good.
Probably going to take some time off this summer though since I've been burnt out from the past three summers doing something.
I dunno, I have mixed feelings on the break though. Something tells me that it's too good for me and it will make me soft. Though another part of me is just completely glad to not do something for three months.
I'm hoping to be working sometime next year though.

Some have guns, most armed police serve day to day as traffic cops.
Oh and the reason I was pulled was because my insurance didn't appear on their system, or that was their cover anyway, they must've seen a bearded man driving an old Toyota and decided to investigate. Keeping our streets safe they are.

The worst they could do is beat you with a shortened baton (the big one was too scary!)

Very few more like, the home office in all their wisdom have decided that regular constables don't need the big scary shooty shoots,
because nothing bad ever happens to regular British police officers

The Discworld switches main characters every book or so iirc. If you want some really good ass stuff to read that is also really long but with a singular main character I suggest the dresden files.

You're still in the early few books, where Terry was still getting a feel for the world and the characters in it. The next book in the witches series is Wyrd Sisters, where Granny is the main character right from the start. Much later in the chronology there are the Tiffany Aching books, which have some of the same ideas as Equal Rites but execute them a lot better IMO. For starters Tiffany Aching is a much more interesting character than Eskarina Smith.
Personally my favourite books are those about the Ankh-Morpork city watch.

Don't take pills you don't trust without medical guidance from a professional
Especially not if you are taking them for one of the side effects (Getting drowsy/easier sleep) rather than their intended main effect
Even if they are harmless, the fact you can speak to a doctor about them at any time will help in reducing anxiety's effects

I've been through so much these past handful of years or so, all I want now is some peace and quiet. It's hard not to feel jaded, so I've been trying to my damnedest to hold onto any semblance of lightheartedness so I don't come off as a huge loner jerk. Guess I'm afraid of it coming off as fake :p

I don't know what I want it to be. I guess I haven't had the time to stop and reflect on that.
CosmicScientist wrote:As some say, be ironic as a joke and you'll eventually turn into it. So if you keep trying, you'll be happy. That or you'll figure something out along the way. Spend time with friends!
It's not really about happiness, it's about getting over this existential dread of losing everything and having to live on the streets again. It's hard forgetting what it feels like to be betrayed or to starve, or to be cold and not have anywhere to go. That's why it's hard not to feel jaded, like I was ground down from a nice, cheerful person into a nervous and paranoid loner.
That's stuff I can get over eventually, it doesn't phase me as much as it may sound. I'm really more afraid of becoming more detached and distant from people. It's become really easy to do this and I fear one bad week could push me towards it.

It's warm, I want to buy some short sleeve work shirts but wtf - did they suddenly get banned or something?
Can't find any anywhere that aren't sweaty white polyester, aside from the fact I hate them sticking to me I can't wear white when half of my job involves either crawling about under desks or moving equipment that is often caked in dust.
