Now I feel kind of sad. Whilst I complain to myself and others about my course not being involved enough on coding, I never really thought how we don't get a basic hands on with the hardware.

I had a class in college that was about various religious/philosophical stories from the perspective of literature rather than as scripture. It was really interesting. A lot of focus on creation stories and basic fundamentals of the religion. Some Islamic stuff (mainly about Muhammed's life pre-prophet-ness), some Buddhist, some indigenous peoples such as Native Americans, some stuff like Lao-Tzu. Really neat approach to the topics.

Where the lion is on the one I shared, that's the Dexter, which traditionally is the place for higher honour and opposite, the unicorn, is the Sinister. The short version is the husband's arms go on the left and the wife's paternal arms go on the right. It isn't set in stone and differs between people, such as bishops having their personal in the Sinister and their see in the Dexter.

The Scottish unicorn does wear a crown (I'm assuming the Scottish crown, the lion still wars a crown too) in their version of the unified coat of arms and the positions of lion and unicorn are reversed. Apparently the unicorn is chained because it's a mythical beast and all beasts of myth are dangerous if free. In the main (not the UK) Scottish coat of arms, there are two chained unicorns and (I'm assuming) the chain isn't a political message and is just the mythical beast thing since there's no mention of anything unfortunate in the wikipedia articles. If I refer to my picture the willy size is prooobably a jab but definitely amusing and I assume they'd do the same in Scotland to the lion. The other coats of arms in England I've seen with chained animals have all been mythical too and I've seen at least one without a chain on its mundane creature. Ireland didn't get a version and is just a part of the UK and Scottish ones with the harp.

The olive branch, peace, has the higher honour. The arrows, war (there's more symbolism than just that though), aren't as highly enjoyed. And according to wikipedia, in 1945 they made the eagle look towards the higher honour of peace, probably for a sentiment of foreign policy.
