comparing any game to dark souls 1 is a fucking wheeze

I STILL can't think of a game better than ds 1 and I've been playing ss13 for who fukken knows now how long

Dark Souls 3 is a better game.

I had a better experience playing Dark Souls 1 because it was a new setting and all new stuff (well mostly new for Demon Souls vets). Dark Souls 1 was a sort of watershed moment for the gaming industry and you can see all the influence it has had on other games.

...but Dark Souls 3 is a better game. Better mechanics, better controls, better graphics, better storytelling, better multiplayer, technically better overall (in terms of things like load-times, glitches, crashes)...

Alright so I finally wanna finish Dark Souls 1 so I can convince myself I have a reason to play 3 at some point in the future. But I'm a bit tired of swinging around the Zweihander all the time. For all its power the timing on it is quite hard to get right.

I want to try a lancer build, using polearms. How feasible is this in Dark Souls 1? It doesn't have to really be suitable for PvP, that's pretty dead in DaS1 anyway.

Everything is usable in PvE, polearms are pretty good for people who don't wanna be assed to learn every enemy attack cuz you can just outrange a lot of stuff.

yeah bleed is great. With the greatshield nerf/shield piercing buff Estoc is Bestocer than ever, though.

Kinda late to the ds1 discussion party but for pole arms the halberd is fucking awesome and you get it early on. Winged spear and pike are both okay but the halberd has a very versatile poke and slash moveset
