Today I played Minecraft to view the cave snapshot and while there were caves in it I noticed no difference other than the height goes down to Y-64 now. After a certain point it's just aquifer which as you might expect is a cave for drowning. Like in the short people mining simulator but I don't know how you drain it

Played Metro: Exodus. Got a bit further than where I stopped the first time. It's like an underwhelming STALKER-lite. Except it's full of unskippable Half-Life like "cutscenes" and the writing and voice acting are terrible. That just leaves the gameplay, which is more of the same. I guess you can craft things now. So your ammunition relies on collecting glowshrooms instead of buying bullets, in addition to just finding them.

Also played Little Nightmares II, which someone posted about here. It's exactly like LIMBO or Inside. I haven't given up on it yet but I don't understand the appeal. Also the cube it gives you at the beginning disappeared into one of those piles of leaves I'm not sure if it was important or not

It's great. As usual with Kojima, it's a story-driven game with bad writing and acting but the gameplay is a lot of fun. I'm replaying it on PC (played through it on PS4 for the first time last year) and listening to podcasts while skipping all the cutscenes.

The concept is misleadingly simple and there's a lot content you unlock as you progress that makes things more complex. But the best parts of the simulator are when it's just you walking. Or carrying, really. Vehicles kind of cheapen it. Guns feel unnecessary. The balance and weight mechanics get in the way of the combat. If you've actually played it and still don't like it then I can't justify the appeal. Something like Euro Truck Simulator bores the shit out of me.

No, you get way more levels and experience than you need, and usually free gear too to the point that it scales down your levels for the content you're doing

I always assumed because it was an MMORPG it was the usual RuneScape endless treadmills for fuck-all reward that seemed like bullshit even as a kid that I grew disillusioned by a long time ago

I've beaten my second playthrough of Code Vein.
please note I did basically nothing different from the first time I played through it as I went for the same ending and used the same weapon (cough cough Zweihander, god fuck two-handed swords are STRONG in that game) I just used a different player character.

it's really just an anime girl creation game with dark souls attached


The game's pretty good wouldn't recommend the DLC though
parrying sucks in that game but dodging is quite sharp (Skull King's fight is really a dodgefest and man does it get enjoyable until the last segment of his health bar, FUUUCK that last eighth of health) and the story's actually pretty fucking decent as far as weeb + souls goes.
plus you can make the cute anime girl oc you've always dreamed of with the fairly robust character creator

Now that I finally got Spyro+Crash on sale I'm doing Spyro yet again for the achievements. It kind of makes me want to die but look at all these junior achievements

Recently I've mainly been working on completing Spyro Reignited again while listening to podcasts, with a bit of Disco Elysium and Cultist Simulator thrown in. I can't figure out how to ascend in Cultist Simulator. And I don't want to cheat by looking up how. I just buy and study books endlessly and before I can complete that enormous task depression or sickness sneaks up on me and kills me.

Speaking of sneaking up and killing people, yesterday I played Dishonoured for the first time in awhile. It's a lot easier than the second game. You can blink for kilometers at a time to float across the level, bypassing all the half-blind guards on braindead patrol routes. The layout of the levels is a lot more linear in the sense of it being incredibly obvious where you need to go to proceed. And you can buy an upgrade that makes tranquiliser darts work immediately in combat (which I don't think is available in the second game). It's simple and pleasurable, rather than segmented and highly repetitive from trial-and-error quick-loading (which is what getting Clean Hands and Shadow with Flesh and Steel in 2 was like).

This morning I tried some new pieces of shit I'd like to say here:

Boring, poorly made, pretentious art game. About the power of stories to revitalise a depressed United States. That principle reminded me of liberals and Marvel movies. Likely will never play it again.

Completed the first tutorial, which was boring. Likely will never play it again.

Loop Hero
Interesting game with a captivating atmosphere that is easy to die in if you overwhelm yourself with vampires. Would like to try it again with less vampires.

Resident Evil 8. It's ok. Beat it for the first time on Hardcore and now I'm working on getting SSS in all the levels in The Mercenaries. Apparently it gets you a lightsaber. It's not fun. Then I'm going to do a second playthrough on Village of Shadows difficulty. Which is going to suck. I think you can bring overpowered weapons, though.

I've been playing on my osrs iron Man and lots of different table top sim stuff with pals. Also been doing some tarkov but it's pretty stressful playing by yourself.

I've been playing /tg/mc and Heroes of the storm, even though heroes of the storm hasn't added a new hero in a while it still gets patches every now and then. I like playing it since it takes less time than both league and dota to actually play a game.

Tried getting into this again on my phone a while back and just couldn't. Really feels like I've played enough Pokemon for a lifetime, everything is just so samey.

I just recently finished GRIME, a very Hollow Knight-y game that runs a bit shorter and has much less of a story presence. It was pretty good. Not a perfect game for sure, a lot of it was kind of forgettable, but the boss fights and the platforming were pretty fun and it kept me coming back until I had finished it.

I hate when my oponent floodgates me. I hate when Dragon Link survives another format. And, above all else, I hate, hate hate that a card called "Chamber Dragonmaid", of the Dragonmaid archetype, is a meta-relevant card. I am going to OBLITERATE Konami HQ with my rage.

And I come back. Well, not really, because I never leave to begin with.

I've been playing this game for 3 fucking years. LITERALLY everyday I have EDOPro out, deckbuilding whatever janky stupid idea I came up with. I may metaphorically scream and have my soul forcedly removed from my body when Konami reveals the v-tuber archetype, but sometimes you just gotta appreciate the creativity - by day they're v-tubers, by night they're extravagant thieves. And then Konami reveals Train support and my soul comes back to my body in an ecstasy like no other.
Konami literally printed a card called Superdreadnaught Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe that has 4000 ATK points, can boost itself to 6000 ATK points and can attack thrice. Also - your starting lifepoints is 8000. This mf can literally kill you twice over and still have 2000 ATK to spare. Also, you use a card called Number 81: Superdreadnaught Rail Cannon Super Dora to summon it.

It literally is 4 trains with a large platform connecting them, filled with guns, with an even BIGGER gun on top.



Shit like this brings me life.


Also, there's a new deck recently released. It's called Suships, and it's about ships, that are made out of sushi. Literal suships. Their main mechanic? You have a central card - of course, rice - that can then combine with the other cards of the deck - that is, the sushi toppings - to create the battleships, wich, of course, are made out of rice and kelp with their respective topping. This is alarmingly high levels of creativity. Heartstone may be more popular and Magic may have better lore, but DAMMIT I want stupid ass shit like this in my veins.

Project Zomboid. Basically it's like The Sims 1 except you can roleplay the NEET lifestyle with greater accuracy.

Opposing Force. Enemies are bullet sponges on Hard. All your guns (bar explosives) feel incredibly weak. Not very satisfying to play.

actually one of the best games i've ever played and the expansion is just as good as the base, although i recommend not engaging with the expansion content 'til you beat the basegame at least once

every half life game feels like this on hard, opfor is great

I read a bit about it and it turns out Opposing Force has the difficulty ramped up compared to the base game. Certainly compared to Half-Life 2, which on Hard is much easier (and a lot more pleasurable to play in general). In Half-Life 2 you're showered in health and ammo and particularly things like grenades which come in ever-replenishing chests. In Opposing Force I was constantly out of bullets in my good guns and low on health and having to figure out the optimal play between quicksaves to maximise the two. Not the worst way to play a game but it felt more like doing a tool-assisted speedrun than playing an FPS. In the end I got to the final boss and just sort of said fuck it. Same is true of the original Half-Life, actually.

Played Echoes of the Eye and then Return of the Obra Dinn. Found Echoes way more tedious and repetitive than the base game. Want to go back through and beat the base game again to see the new ending but don't know if I can be bothered. Had to cheat a bit on Obra Dinn. Got impatient and frustrated with my lack of progress after a certain point. The fates started out easy to medium in difficulty and satisfying to figure out and then beyond a certain point I was left with a shitload of unknowns and no idea how to progress. It wouldn't have occurred to me to check the hammocks for crew numbers in the sickness scene or match the Chinese Topmen to their bunks based on their socks and shoes sticking out. The filter over everything made it particularly hard for me to make out small details in the characters' appearances (or the tags on the hammocks). The only thing I'd want to change about the game (other than the filter) would be making it so you could could enter memories through the book instead of having to revisit the corpses throughout the ship, which always made it a pain to go back through chapters chronologically. I also felt that the game did its story a disservice too. It would've been better as a show like The Terror, or even just as a book. Best part of the game was easily the music.

im doing hcgim in osrs and im having a grand old time

like a lot of people i've wasted many hours of my life to runescape over the years, especially as a kid (first got into it in 2004 and was there for the RS2 beta) but like a lot of things i never really got very far with it and can't imagine subjecting myself to it nowadays

why do people do it to themselves? it can take literal days clicking the same few things to gain a level
