Been experimenting with mixing this Astora greatsword pyromancer build with dark miracles since i Just picked up Gnaw. It's kinda decent depending on resistances. Making some progress finally after taking a break for a bit.

Which ones are you farming? Try the ones after sullyvan if you arnt already

Also the guy using gnaw, wait til you get dorhys gnawing. It's probably one of the best damaging miracles in the game.

In terms of damage output it's great. It hits hard as shit for its cost in FP/Stam. Plus the bleed stacks it adds are insane.

I don't know about "best" though. It's just so.damn.slow. to come out you're getting to get whomped if you try to use it much in PVP.

In the end my PRAISE THE DARK spell loadout was Great Deep Soul, Affinity, and Dark Edge. It works pretty damn well and catches a lot of people off guard. Great Deep Soul is your standard pew pew. Affinity is your shotgun/tech trap. Dark Edge is the surprise GOTCHA BITCH people don't expect that flatlines them when you're mixing it up in melee range.

For the life of me, I could not think of a moment in PVP where you could even cast dorhy's gnawing, really. Maybe with some faster casting rings?

Yeah, unfortunately it's very niche. I mean, if it could cast faster its utility and power in PVP would be pretty stupid. Everyone would be bitching about it all the time.

I mostly meant pve, the only miracle you might hit someone with in pvp is sunlight spear, and we all know how much damage those do

Been trying out the dancer's enchanted swords and they're pretty fun if you have the stats for them. Course, if we're talking about PvE, spam crystal soul spears to win I say.

Curious, what's your favourite weapon of the heavy category? Personally I liked morne's greathammer, and have heard good things about farron's greatsword but haven't gotten far on heavy in PvP, more of a halberd fan myself.

I used Vordt's mace through the game because I liked the style and the damage was good, then I swapped to lorian's greatsword, and I've swapped to gundyr's halberd because its literally the best weapon in the game.

Curved greatswords are stupid because their combo does ridiculous amounts of damage and is really, really easy to hit-confirm. I don't know if they have (or will) nerf that but it's something they should consider. IMO probably the best weapons in the game right now because of that.

Gundyr's Halberd and the Astora Greatsword both get a lot of play because their weapon art is so crazy and a lot of shitters don't see it coming or know how to handle it. Clowndrill 2.0

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Morne's is also top-tier, yeah. Bigass hitbox and devastating critical damage. I don't know if Dragonslayer Swordspear is any good, I see a lot of people using it but the weapon art seems kinda shit to me and I don't think there's any jank about it that pushes it over the top.

Yeah, Gundyr's is my go-to weapon for PvP and some of PvE. Haven't seen Astora's, but I'm not all up to date on the latest meta of dark souls 3 and such.

It's a greatsword that has a charge attack. You run forward with it out and then thrust into stuff. Like a lance charge, you get multiple hits on your target as you run through them.

The only reason it's "good" is because people don't expect a greatsword to do that, so a lot of people end up eating it to the face. Against people who recognize it it's nowhere near as potent.

Sounds like how the blackknight greatsword should be, or atleast is in the hands of black knights. I've seen a lot of people with drakeblood and other lightning (buffed) weapons doing PvP in the watery area near Archdeacon McDonnell recently as well. I've actually gotten my ass handed to me by a spare lightning bolt from the dragonslayers spear in a big mess between an invader, a mound maker, myself(aldrich spirit), 2 phantoms and a host.

Well the reason for using the Astora Greatsword with the Pyromancer/Swordsman hybrid build is becuase of it's really strong int and faith scaling when using a chaos gem.

The pickaxe is the best weapon.

People dodge around your first swipe and try to hit with their estoc, and then the realize you don't flinch and you're about to smash them

If you want to try something fun fist weapons are fucking amazing in DS3 because of their top-tier parry. Get that flaming demon fist and punch the shit out of people. It's more effective if you swap to something else for the actual riposte but if you want to have FUN just keep on punching.

I really enjoyed BLEEDMAN as well. It makes the most of out 2sword3edgy type loadouts.

a bunch of assholes tried it on me when i was invading and it bought me a whole fifteen seconds of time to run around and try to resist getting gangraped

i had someone throw a gnaw at me and it was shockingly fast

that said evangelist gnaw speed still seems to be the same

I did test it, the cast is still kinda slow but the projectile is moderately fast, maybe on par with deep soul speed. Pretty good overall, I think they increased the damage and bleed too because god damn it's a great spell.

Tried it, went back to DaS 1. Might try it again after they've patched it a few times. Just feels like a lot of stuff is kind of off compared to DaS. Also not a big fan of the new estus system and the whole losing a good chunk of your health when you die. I'll admit though, the levels look cool and it's good that they brought invincibility frames back.
