rimworld playthrough #1952, got a few trillion mods and finally decided to actually use rimatomics. straight up launched an ICBM and nuked a neighboring pirate outpost. it's pretty sick

been playing a lot of KSP. ive gotten a ton of stuff in orbit and landed two kerbals on the moon but they didn't have enough delta-v to get orbit back so theyre stuck there until i can rescue them

I've been playing advanced tactics: gold, I want to shoot myself in the head so much due to failure, but then there are the rare moments where my spearhead manages to get through the enemy's line and I delete half of the enemy army due to it, example: https://i.imgur.com/B8rnBCA.png

managed to make my top divisions break through, encircling the enemy's top half of their army, deleting all of it, too bad I spent more time preparing divisions and troop compositions then fighting

only a small portion of the map, too

MHW is my first monhun game and I'm enjoying it fairly well
I also decided to get back into tf2 after cashing out 4 years ago and regretting it massively ever since, dropped a tenner on it to get my old gear back but economy is so weird now everything was super cheap so I'm now back where I was. Despite my trepidation I'm having a blast and am very glad I did so, just as fun as I remember

mildly to moderately burnt out on MHW, tf2, warframe, and ss13 (the one round i came back for today wasnt really fun even with some fairly good admin memes) so ill probably put those on the backburner for a while as i wait for some game to take hold on me to binge on next. until then ill probably just try not being a complete failure at CDDA again (spoilers: unlikely) and continuing to work through persona 5, which is a good entry especially since im playing on literal babby mode since i like the series for the storyand waifus and not the grind. i'd also like to find another good visual novel to dig into since playing katawa shoujo late last spring made me realize how much i like the genre, but a massive chunk of the ones i've found are paid so im gonna need to try and figure out a good place to """""purchase""""" them.

Finally got around to playing Witcher 3. Why the fuck do i keep finding stupidly high level gear? I found a sword diagram for a level 37 steel sword, but im level 4. I almost have all the materials to craft the fucking thing. Half the gear i find in chests is level 7-8+ or level 1. Running around looking for points of interest to level up some, and all the creatures are level 7+, but they still die easily enough. The levels of stuff in this game is a complete fucking mess.

And how the fuck do i make a Gwent deck in this game? I go to innkeepers, but they are usually selling random, crappy cards of another faction, when my starter deck is Northern Realms.

Gwent takes a while, but as soon as you got a good deck of spies going it's broken as fuck.

I just save-scum to win the early games and get unit cards for playing other fucks.

Pretty sure one of the innkeepers used that fucking spy combo against me. Endless stream of spies, letting me win the round, but he had a crazy card advantage over me for the last round. CA in Gwent is so damn good, especially when you dont even draw cards between rounds in this version.

Seems like they also ruined resource gathering. Whats the point of filling the entire fucking map with plants every few steps if you dont even need to craft stuff more than once? How does it make sense for a bottle of alcohol to refill all your bombs/potions?!

For a game that everyone claimed was the best RPG every released, it sure is a fucking mess. Witcher 2 made a much better impression.

Seems to be mainly luck based on who gets the higher tier teammates
And on getting teammates that actually try to cooperate and do things as a group

And none of it felt like fun, so I guess I'm not going to go back to that for another year or two

The value in rimworld is mostly mods from what I could see

Pretty much everything I've seen about vanilla rimworld made me want to not play

Tiny battles is mostly due to time of day and tier, mid tiers suffer the most
Carriers are due for a rework on the scale of the absolute butchering they did to artillery in WoT
Tier teaming is usually pretty consistent, the game always tries to get equal counts but will loosen the restrictions if it starts taking too long
And the teammates, well it's a f2p game so you get all of the shit people crowding in, BRs on the NA servers for instance

EU4 again, this time as Cusco/Inca

I managed to form the Incan Empire, completed all my religious reforms, and absorbed all the south american natives around me just in time for the white man to come, this time it was the French

My army was 2x the size of theirs but the French being 10 tech levels above me meant the casualties were massive, and manpower was something I always struggled with because of all the rebellions I had to deal with.

Surrendered all of the Columbia region to the French. Fortunately for me, that meant they brought in their technologies and institutions to the new colonies, allowing me to adapt to them and instantly learn 80% of everything they know and skyrocketed me from rank #113 to #7.

Suddenly my Spiritualist Despotic Monarchy became a Republican Great Princedom, my Saka Inca changed her title to Princess, but then she shortly abolished elections and became a 70-year-old dictatorial Lady Protector. Felt a little wonky like paradox didn't really work out how natives modernize properly, but the result was hilariously awesome military buffs.

It felt so good stuffing the french colonies after that.

running a rimworld save with over 100 mods. sometimes it gets fucky like recently raids stopped spawning for some reason but fixing it is half the fun

Yeah, not sure on the 1.0 ETA since it's being left intentionally vague so that he has time to finish it, so that's fine. Went to check and see if .19 was worth upgrading to, but I think I'll go back to .18 to use the huge modlist I've compiled over time, there's not really much in .19 that is worth the headache of getting everything running together again.

most mods are updated for B19 already. imo no reason to stay on B18 anymore

Fug, never had to face a coalition before. Not a fan of the European dogpile on top of the empire-wide rebellion that came with me eating the entirety of Mexico in one war.

I'm not even sure how I did it, but I won despite being 5 tech levels behind with a shitty Navy. Inca is probably the most fun I've had with EU4

The coalition formed and DoW me in the span of a couple of months. I also had Ming and a few European allies who all abandoned me as it happened.

I had like 80 aggressive expansion and 260% over extension, not to mention recently annexing a vassal, giving me -9 diplomatic reputation

Fortunately the only superpower involved in the war was France, as I had an ongoing truce with Spain, England and Russia

Still a huge pain in the ass, because all those small countries basically refuse to accept defeat in a coalition war

Unrest on small countries doesn't help you though
It just means they'll get some shitty peasant rebels that will unsiege your occupation, enforce their demands and then the little shits buy some mercs/rebuild an army and they'll fuck about in your land

Also you should probably give Mexico to a colonial nation, just..Fuck it, not your problem?

I was too busy grabbing land in my own continent to get anything substantial in North America before it was all taken. I still ended up with one Colony after I wiped out Holland and assumed lordship over all their vassals. Wasn't expecting this and they hate me because I'm way behind in diplo tech + my massive mercantilism. I'm actually fighting an independence war right now and I can't get a good landing on their lands before they wipe me out. I need to quickly invest in transports.

Europe hates me too and they keep sabotaging my reputation to counter all my positive modifiers

One war after another, Europe keeps DoW me. Now that I’ve defeated the Revolution and decapitated their budding Monarchy, England wants a piece of me. They’re only sending their hilariously massive Navy to deal with me leaving their colonies that cover most of North America to fight the land war. It’s actually pretty tough as they’re united against me and is still 3 tech levels above me.

Ming is useless. They always abandon me in larger wars and they’re getting manhandled by Russia and the Hordes. They have 0 mandate with negative growth so I expect them to implode fairly soon. Portugal is helpful as their large navy kept the carribean safe. That is, until the English Royal Navy came. I think I managed to get an alliance with them because they fear my army size, and we have no contested borders.

Rising Storm 2 is nice
Even if I've yet to figure out how to avoid just dying
Or how to spot enemies reliably in any variation of jungle

Or really how to do anything other than urban fighting. That's a thing I'm actually good at. Shame there's only one map that's actually vaguely urban
For the emphasis the Vietnam war had on guerrilla warfare, the maps sure as fuck don't lend themselves to it. It's all a straight push with essentially no chance to flank the enemy

what maps have you been playing ligga

Every single one is like that because once you actually start to flank or get behind the enemy for a good attack

But I've found most of my best sharpshooter setups about 45° behind an enemy-held objective, and that still at a range of roughly 150m.

Either get me long range or close enough that I can whip out my dick and slap them with it. None of those in between bullshit

I'll agree on the 45 degrees though, that's a sweetspot for many objectives
