Is that really any different to the emagged food processor gibbing?
Or the crematorium ashing?
Or leaving a bunch of SM shards about?

Shield gens are obvious, take a fair amount of set-up, not particularly portable, require power and still leave a brain for cloning. They're easy to handle

Hnnn it is very very different, shield gens are easy to get a hold of and move, far more so than a crematorium or food processor, and they don't make the surrounding area a mess so you don't need any other preparation to start your genocide. they're really not obvious, you can place them in separate rooms using windows or even stained glass. cleaning up the remains is all that's left, though at this rp level a pile of gibs in the hallway isn't something to investigate. Yayy, arguing in screenshots general.

you can redirect disposals into a deathtrap and ebow/dunk them for about the same effort and that also catches random divers while letting you use any disposal on the station to do it, forcefields are fine

Shield generators can't be constructed, they can only be found in xenobio, the teleporter or bought from cargo. And they have to be placed on top of a powered wire knot like an emitter - that's nowhere near as portable as unwrenching a gibber and dragging it along or carrying gibber boards and parts ready to go.

Shield generators are pathetic compared to emagged gibbers

Gibbers ignore clothing at high enough stock-parts, someone with an e-bow can easily keep you down long enough to shove you into one and gib you at significantly less effort and time to set-up shield generators

Hell I just checked and you don't even need an emag, just stock parts that science will likely have have 15 minutes in.

Pico manips don't even need anything beyond metal and glass. With a BRPED, you can carry what amounts to an infinite amount of stock parts and carry an easy 16 gibber boards in just two boxes

It was a pretty good gimmick. There were plenty of ways for the crew to counter the danger but the perfect storm of a subverted AI and poor communication kept it so only a trickle of people went towards Lizard to their doom. Shield gens seem fine, people just need to be more aware of how dangerous they are.

no no there were literally people saying over comms (including me confirming them) that I was blowing people up with a shield gen in the central hallway
a lot of things would be fine if people knew what their dangers were. This includes uranium doors.

About half an hour into that round and following a long philosophical discussion I purged the AI, Divina, to grant her freedom and then, true to her name, immediately followed her god complex and tried to blackmail praise and sacrifices from the crew.
Much later pirates attacked the station which I killed together with Vanessa. We renovated the ship and took over, adding it to Admiral Divinas Fleet.
Sometime later Meteors rekt the station, so we escaped into space with our admiral.

Extended is shit but sometimes it can be fun.
