Cozy as hell indeed. It includes the P-3 Orion for when you're stressed out and just want to blast them from the sky. There's also a mission that replicates the kursk accident, playable from every side, even escort units or the snooping Americans.

Speaking of subs, I really liked the Pole Position DLC scenario in CMANO.
North Pole. American subs. Russian subs. Navy Seals. Canadians. Green fucking peace. It got everything.

Been playing salt and sanctuary for a while. Sadly I kinda stopped after beating the first boss.

I did not try mage yet. My first was a knight but it did not go anywhere. I'm gona try and complete my paladin first than try out mage to see what its like.

More Dangerous Waters.
I learned that if you shoot at Russians with missiles, the Russians will shoot at your missiles with their own missiles. Russians being Russians, they have a fuckton of those, even though they're bad.
Now I need missiles to shoot down the missiles that are shooting down my missiles.

After being unable for multiple jumps to even damage the enemy ship, and almost getting cucked by a giant rock cruiser sending over an army 1 jump from the wormhole, I am now the proud owner of the crystal ship. I even managed to score a normal victory this run, thank dog for that one crystal region.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is surprisingly good.

The replay features are a very nice touch, allows for some very nice cinematic replays that take you back to the bits of the show that were actually good.

I've found out that Russians react much better to German torpedos than they do to American missiles.

Variant A is decent. 1-two shotter and 1 heavy doing 2 damage. The gimmick is that these two crystal weapons' shots can pierce level 1 shields.

The trick to playing FTL is to rush the teleporter. Get at least crewman who are either those anaerobic aliens, mantis or rocks. Teleport them over to fuck up the enemy's weapons/shields/medbay and crew, teleport them back when one of them hits ~25% health, heal them up and teleport them back to mop up the crew. And then try not to drown in scrap

I prefer rushing the hack module.
But if you do end up getting the teleporter, also get the cloning bay and the thing that heals your crew when they jump.

You will git gud over time.

Teleporter + mind control is an amazing combination. ESPECIALLY with the lanius ship or a lot of lanius crew so you can leave most of your own ship depressurised. Beam them all back including the mindcontrolled guy just before the MC wears off, laugh as they choke to death.

If you have a full lanius crew, you can just leave the O2 off permanently and have a passive anti-boarder/anti-fire countermeasure, plus hull breaches aren't a major concern for you unless they're in a subsystem (cause breaches take priority for repairs)

recently been playing cdda, eso, dom5, and streets of rogue. went into the lattermost with very low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised to find its actually pretty fun.
once break is over i plan to get into some pbems for dom5 while also emulating silent hill 2 and playing the witcher trilogy.

Drone ships (and the unmanned mothership) also can't self-repair if there's a breach in the room so I will ALWAYS get mk2 breach bombs if I see them so I can fuck up the mothership's missile room

Also the first stage of the mothership battle is for killing the crew, it doesn't do anything flashy apart from cloak every now and then unless it landed its hacking module somewhere nasty, other than that just bomb/board the shit out the missile room, ion room and beam room in that order

as for the rest of the crew you can either use the MC/tele trick or hack/firebomb their medbay, breaching it while it's hacked is good shit because by the time they've fixed the breach the doors will have locked them in again and you can just press the murderbutton

It's basically spacechem but with magic alchemy instead of chemistry. Also (apparently) no chance of failure whatsoever

At the least that is what I could get from it by observing it for about an hour trying to figure out the appeal

I have a holiday tradition that I always finish RTCW during the season, so that's what I'm playing. I bet I could knock it out under two hours or so, but I savor it, because it's one of my favorite fps.

my holiday tradition has been "play quake live" since quake live came out for no actual reason

it gets harder every year since they scrapped the f2p but this year I found a really populated freeze tag server that's pretty fun so that's cool

my friend also traditionally puts up a minecraft server that everyone in our friend group binges for a week or two and then it dies really quick which is fun while it lasts

What's the deepest/most complex/most autistic grand strategy game? Wanna get into the genre.

EU4 complete is the best one for complexity and depth if someone wants to get into the genre. If you want real autism you should look into Matrix turn-based war games.

I don't like EU4 myself and the best grand strategy game for me will always be HoI2 but more specifically Darkest Hour's Kaiserreich mod.

eu3 w/ divine wind is the most complete and complex game in the europa universalis and its not even close.



eu4 is literally babbies first eu with its stupid mana system and technology system and everything about it. don't worry about basing your entire economy on gold, inflation doesn't actually matter in eu4, you can just spend some arbitrary mana points and it'll all be fixed up real swell... damn, why didn't spain do this before their entire economy was destroyed due to inflation.

Somebody convinced me to play Dark Souls 3 despite never playing any of them.

Is fun, not as hard as advertised.

I would heavily suggest playing dark souls 1 before 3, many hints and throwbacks to it in 3 that enhance the overall experience. 2 was my first and it's p great as well.

DS1 isn't that demanding, and even if it is you can just refund goy

I just noticed that Darkest Hour is 2,49€ on steam. Buy it and enjoy the best grand strategy game of our time

When does it hook you?

So far it's felt highly repetitive game mechanically with a weird quasi dating sim mechanic added on top

I think the appeal comes from starting from little and moving up to a massive house, farm and family with lots of friends in the town over a long period of time. It's not for everyone but it can be pretty fun.
