Did the EE change anything at all?

Enhanced Edition is a lot smoother and polished and has full voiceovers for the conversations. Also adds more classes, dual-wielding, quests, companion banter etc.

It's just overall better

The difference is that TF2 and Overwatch are both first person, team based, class based, ability based, push the payload, ctf, tdm shooters.

overwatch is like a moba in disguise, it's all about counterpicks and waiting for ultimates to go off

Pretty much that

TF2 is a fun game where you have a team and objectives to do while shooting the other guys, doing whatever and you'll still be contributing to things. With enough room for a skilled player to always influence the game.
Overwatch is a game where you've got cooldowns to click for your kills and the team will yell at you if you don't do what they believe is right, and you will frequently just die for no reason other than because someone else pressed q or your team is suiciding into the other team while pretending they're being useful

Did I mention I believe mobas are a scourge on gaming and there is nothing positive about any of them?

a little harsh but yeah overwatch is SUPER focused on abilities and not aim/gamesense

Yes it is. You're talking about counterpicking, but if you played tf2 you would know it also has counterpicking. Except it's less pronounced because there's only 9 non-unique characters, instead however many Overwatch has these days.

Yes, Overwatch has high-impact abilities, while tf2 has low-impact abilites tied to items, but that's just tweaking of numbers.

There's no radical difference in design.

I miss the old days of randomgen/only rifles

The best part about the old one is you could color change your blocks to the same color as the terrain

Meaning tunnel entrances being filled back in wasn't painfully obvious.

Then there's the stupid class system.

I miss when shotguns were useful and had decent range.

I wish every game ever made would stop making shotguns garbage

I hate grabbing a shotgun and having the damage falloff be so ridiculous as to make them useless outside of 5 feet

I used to love slug-sniping people in bad company 2, there was no shell drop, just travel time
And the crosshairs were so pixel perfect you could outsnipe snipers if their dumb ass stayed still

obviously i replaced the rifle shit with crosshairs for extra powergamey unobstructed view

hallway ctf has the purest trench warfare if you climb up top

you can only build one block before hitting the height cap, so making foxholes and trenches is the only chance you have

you should still be able to do this, the old client still exists - you might have downloaded openspades which is its own thing

i really REALLY want to get some people together, host a server/join an empty one on randomgen, and play, because FUCK, randomgen ace of spades is amazing

If I did a rimworld lets play thing with SS13 characters in the video games board would that still be entertaining or has it been overdone

They are always a good time. Also I think the next alpha test just dropped and it has df style combat logs for melee now

I'm personally fond of Artificial Academy 2 let's plays with SS13 characters

Make sure you've got mods to make it interesting

Maybe get a xeno mod and that Nanotrasen equipment mod I think I heard of

I started one but my Rimworld got corrupted to fuck and all my data was unusable so I abandoned it

2 hours of cutscenes in Final Fantasy XIV
They werent bad cutscenes, but that's a bit much for my taste

On a total cost to cutscene ratio FFXIV is more efficient than a cinema

I've already missed out on two dungeons because the intro cutscene and boss cutscene was longer than the time it took the group to complete the dungeon

There was a ~5 year gap since I last played Classic, but the changes feel really subtle.

The voice acting actually helps with the amount of dialogue there is, the loredumps are more naturally spread out, and the rewritten story really does help make the game a lot more bearable.

With the exception of Cyseal. That place is always so boring.
