Polls on the forum are (read: should be) required when making big changes to the game, so:
Could it be possible to make polls more visible? Maybe a special icon for a thread containing a poll? Or even a special setting that could notify me with an email about every poll being started on the forums?

I feel like I missed way too many polls on the old forum and didn't get to contribute to things, and now I'm always just skimming through Ideas and Feedback -subforums to see if there are any important polls going on.

A polling forum might be useful for NTS. It'd be up to Danno and Miggles if they want it, though.

A polling forum would be exceptionally helpful. Since there isn't really an agreed-upon forum for polls right now, it would help if there was one EXPLICITLY for polls.

MrStonedOne is going to be converting the forums to different software sometime in the near future and until then there probably won't be that many changes proposed here happening to the forum; but don't worry, I have been writing them done and once the forum is converted we'll try to get through as many as we can.

Polls on the SERVERS should be required for major changes.

Can confirm, extensive usage of SMF over the years, highly prefer it to phpBB.

2. this thread never counts itself as being read, no matter how many times i visit the most recent page

Ive seen some forums that show what everyone voted in a poll.

Can we have that? A)to make sure poll results are legitimate and B) so we can bother everyone who votes requires revision but doesn't post what it is they require.

This is enabled by forum mods; one that'll be added when we switch to SMF most likely.

Good job, that's one of the points behind NT. Some ideas will only make sense for one or the other, it's gonna cause some confusion, and there's no reason for it. So just deal with having to open two tabs, as painful as that is.

That is way less common than idea that fits in both codebases being stuck in only one subsection.
It's like sprites/mapping, but even more so. It's all complete hypotheticals that can be adapted to either branch 99% of the time.

i guarantee they wouldnt be otherwise people wouldnt choose one or the other to put the idea in
if it was a matter of lack of effort the reasonable assumption is that all ideas would go to the /tg/ board as its closest to the top and thus easier to access
the amount of laziness required to click only the top forum is equal to the amount of laziness that causes people not to copypaste them on both boards
and yet both boards do get different threads

Make it so when you have a new forum PM, the message button turns red. Like on the old forum. I legitamently miss a lot of forum pms that way and it can't hurt to have it.

Can you lock people with less than 50 posts out of the ideas subforum? It might stop stupid ideas that have been shot down 20 times being reposted every other week.
