Oh boy it's another exciting "game developer has absolutely no idea of what they're doing on the PC" episode.

If this isnt patched out by tomorrow I'm refunding. I have a funny feeling they're going to pull an Arkham Knight.

I don't know why people spent $60 on this when you could of just bought Starbound for $15 and gotten a slightly less disappointing generated universe-explorer game.

Too bad the dev team doesn't have any pink haired boobygirls, then we'd get all the fun of jaming gournalists making videos calling us a bunch of pissbaby racists who play with legos and blaming the crashing on the fact that the game was not coded to be playable by white males.

Okay, I played it for a few hours

I haven't had any issues, but there's definitely not a lot there

I never bought in to the hype, so I'd like to think I'm fairly objective

Not worth 60 bucks, but not irredeemable horseshit either

I requested a refund, here's my message.

"I was under the impression that No Man’s Sky was like Elite Dangerous, which it is too a degree but with the lack of actual multiplayer and after reading the following article at http://www.gamespot.com/articles/two-no ... 0-6442492/
I’d rather go back to elite dangerous I have 125 hours on it; in fact if my request for a refund goes through I plan on buying the complete elite dangerous expansion pack, that way I can do the same thing as No Man’s Sky, but with my friends and not a ghost. I know my game time falls short of the hours played, but this request is on day one launch."

I'm going back to elite dangerous.

It's on the front page of Steam, right at the top, and is getting fucking incinerated.

As far as elite dangerous goes, at least it's more accepted; from what I've read only a third of buyers didn't like it compared to Nu Mans Skies half. Elite Dangerous does get it's grind on, dare I say close to FF11 in terms of Grinding.

No

If you're the first person to discover something, someone else can maybe find it and they'll find whatever you called it

Emailed support, went to work, read the scripted "WE'LL PATCH IT GUYS" statements from Goodbye Games, came home, saw no patch, no emails, game still wouldnt load. Put in for my refund.

What a fucking hilarious trainwreck. Lets see how long this shitpile manages to stay on the steam store.

Elite had the same instancing issues (players unable to warp to the same game instance and see each other) for over an year, actually I don't think they have fixed it yet, the ability to form wings and basic multiplayer interaction was added after 5 months, I wouldn't use Elite as an example of a fun space multiplayer experience. Not to mention that it wasn't even supposed to have multiplayer and when it was announced they were gonna add it, a lot of people cancelled their pre-order because they wanted single player only

Elite was always going to be an online game, but they'd said there would be an offline game too.
Instead they gave an online private solo mode, and thats why people cancelled.

Also most of the instancing issues are due to uPnP being badly supported by the shitty routers ISPs give you.

I've played it a bit more. And you know, despite the shallowness of the gameplay, I could see myself playing for 5-10 hours more and having fun. That is if the game didn't run like dog shit.

Played this a bit at my friend's house, really glad i did not buy it for myself.

Every single planet has swarms of these police killbots that send more killbots after you if you mine too much or something. They are literally omnipresent.

Other races are found all over the place, but never have any sort of civilization. You see their ships flying in the sky and you can meet one or two at special anomalies, as well as in spaceports but they feel totally dead.

The core mechanic of "mine to fill your seven different constantly depleting meters" is obnoxious and not fun

The only combat you really ever see is fighting the space cop killbots, fighting wild animals, and dogfighting the occasional space pirates that show up when you enter a system

Ships do not manouvre quickly enough to make space combat feel fun, and it seems to always devolve into flying directly at the guy and trading damage until one of you dies (although this may have just been because my ship was early tier)

As far as i know you cannot own ships big enough to walk around in which is a bummer

Animal life seems lazily randomly generated

These are just my main complaints, over all the game is pretty bad and i am not sure i will even get it on sale at this point

I haven't seen the vid but minecraft first night vids do get the most views. It's just a thing that happens, even on the less known youtubers.

It's the 8-16 demographic that is interested in minecraft, but doesn't actually want to play it themselves(Those older and interested tend to just get the game themselves). Some youtube channels get big just because they do minecraft and attract a fanbase that way.

It's a thing that happens, but I'd be surprised if people can pull it off these days. Markets are saturated and all
