The closest I'd get is the lotion I keep on my nightstand. I keep my various medicinal powders in the bathroom.

Oh shut up. You weigh less than I do. I'm like 230 and mostly blubber n gristle.

Also I think I may need anger management.

That realization of the moment that your expectations of your coworkers is so low you blow up at the first as applicable target who did nothing wrong even though you are justified with your anger. It's just the wrong target in the chain. I at least know I'm wrong and feel remorse when it happens. I apologized a bunch but I now wonder when that wont fix friendships and working relationships anymore. My god do I need a different low stress job. My misanthropy is too strong now.

Hence why I've got the aforementioned lotion on my nightstand. When it got cold my right thumb, index, and middle fingers split open and I've been using this stuff every night. My fingers are just now finally getting back to normal.

Well, I used to have a nasty habit of chewing on my pinkies while I idled away on computers late at night

Disgusting, yes, but it left a thick callous on the exterior of both of them
Whenever it gets too dry they split open at the joints on bending them

They never really seal back up until it gets more humid either, so it's just a constant nagging pain

Man, this sucks.

A friend of mine across the country really needs to get out of his living situation with his shitty mother, but he can't save up enough money and can't even drive (mainly due to her meddling). Though I don't make much money, I could afford to help support a roommate, but I don't have the space right now, plus moving someone from Washington to West Virginia would be a huge hassle.

Feeling annoyingly helpless.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Sulli ... en_strikes
  1. The first documented lightning strike of Sullivan occurred in April 1942. He was hiding from a thunderstorm in a fire lookout tower. The tower was newly built and had no lightning rod at the time; it was hit seven or eight times. Inside the tower, "fire was jumping all over the place". Sullivan ran out and just a few feet away received what he considered to be his worst lightning strike. It burned a half-inch strip all along his right leg, hit his toe, and left a hole in his shoe.
  2. He was hit again in July 1969. Unusually, he was hit while in his truck, driving on a mountain road—the metal body of a vehicle normally protects people in cases such as this by acting as a Faraday cage. The lightning first hit nearby trees and was deflected into the open window of the truck. The strike knocked Sullivan unconscious and burned off his eyebrows, eyelashes, and most of his hair. The uncontrolled truck kept moving until it stopped near a cliff edge.
  3. In 1970, Sullivan was struck while in his front yard. The lightning hit a nearby power transformer and from there jumped to his left shoulder, searing it.
  4. In 1972, Sullivan was working inside a ranger station in Shenandoah National Park when another strike occurred. It set his hair on fire; he tried to smother the flames with his jacket. He then rushed to the restroom, but couldn't fit under the water tap and so used a wet towel instead. Although he never was a fearful man, after the fourth strike he began to believe that some force was trying to destroy him and he acquired a fear of death. For months, whenever he was caught in a storm while driving his truck, he would pull over and lie down on the front seat until the storm passed. He also began to carry a can of water with him and believed that he would somehow attract lightning even if he stood in a crowd of people.
  5. On August 7, 1973, while he was out on patrol in the park, Sullivan saw a storm cloud forming and drove away quickly. But the cloud, he said later, seemed to be following him. When he finally thought he had outrun it, he decided it was safe to leave his truck. Soon after, he was struck by a lightning bolt. Sullivan stated that he actually saw the bolt that hit him. The lightning set his hair on fire, moved down his left arm and left leg and knocked off his shoe. It then crossed over to his right leg just below the knee. Still conscious, Sullivan crawled to his truck and poured the can of water, which he always kept there, over his head.
  6. The next strike, on June 5, 1976, injured his ankle. It was reported that he saw a cloud, thought that it was following him, tried to run away, but was struck anyway.
  7. On Saturday morning, June 25, 1977, Sullivan was struck while fishing in a freshwater pool. The lightning hit the top of his head, singed his hair, traveled down, and burnt his chest and stomach. Sullivan turned to his car when something unexpected occurred — a bear approached the pond and tried to steal trout from his fishing line. Sullivan had the strength and courage to strike the bear with a tree branch. He claimed that this was the twenty-second time he hit a bear with a stick in his lifetime.
He was avoided by people later in life because of their fear of being hit by lightning, and this saddened him. He once recalled "For instance, I was walking with the Chief Ranger one day when lightning struck way off (in the distance). The Chief said, 'I'll see you later."

I've been giving myself the fair shares of headaches this week but after seeing the end result I think it was worth it.
Spoiler:
Image
Explanation:
I had the brilliant (Read: Terrible) idea of attempting to rip models out of MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries to use inside of Garry's Mod for various purposes. Considering the game is from 2002 it's not exactly surprising I ran into a few issues along the way.

Some of those issues revolved around the engine itself. The game took a lot of trail and error to run on windows 10, I did try to use a virtual machine at first but this was met with poor results because of how virtual machines work. After a day of tinkering I ended up finding a functional setup and started to look at the traditional ways of ripping models. Which involves DLL injections into the game as it runs. Which is where the next issues started popping up.

The game itself refused to work with the ripping software, crashing on startup. After a few more hours of trying various methods and possible solutions I eventually discovered that using the mission editor allowed for the exporting of textures and textures alone. Any models exported were corrupted beyond saving.

Moving on, I started looking around for ways to export the models straight from the game's assets. I started to look around for the raw files, which were of course stored in a resource archive with a format not used anywhere else. Skipping ahead a day I eventually run across this tool and the script required to unpack the .mw4 files, so now that we have access to the files we're dealing with the next problem. What the fuck is an .erf file?

During one of my previous searches I came across some paper craft files based off of the game's assets, implying that it's possible to turn the files into a more usable format. The only question was how. After spending more time going through old and forgotten (Thank you web archiving) forums I came across these guys who attempted to develop their own custom mechs, they somehow got their hands on a c# libary which allowed them to read those .erf files. One problem, forum attachments often require you to have an account and this forum was from back in 2009, registering wasn't an issue but they locked every other forum behind a special usergroup to combat the spam bots which were all over the place. Now the owner of the forum was last online somewhere at the start of February so I decided to give it a shot and applied for the group, leaving a message explaining my intentions in the designated thread.

The next morning I wake up to a message from the owner saying that he updated my user group so that I could access the files I needed. He also linked me to another previously hidden away thread which contained .3ds files of every mech found in the vanilla game, untextured. We ended up sending some messages back and forth over the next few days and today I finally managed to get everything split up properly with the UV's sorted out and textures working. This is the first time I've exported all of the parts at once and outside of a few model origins I need to fix it seems to be ready for the actual coding I'll be doing over the weekend, most of it probably dedicated to figuring out how to make it walk.

Bloody hell I'm exhausted.

I think I saw a drug deal going on yesterday. Was walking home and there was a white guy smoking outside of a convenience store down the block. I shrug and unlock my door and go up but right as I'm walking in I see another guy walk up, and they both go into an alley. 5 minutes later I see them both walking out and the guy who arrived later is stuffing something in his jacket.

Over the weekend I put in a load of laundry, and then a bit later I heard a fuckign splashing sound. Came over to find out that my fucking washing machine was overflowing. Turned it off, got the clothes out, and started scooping the water out into the sink. After I got the water down to a manageable level I closed it, sat down for a bit, and went to the fridge for some water when I saw that the light in the fridge was out.

So was the cooling. And the power in my bedroom. Where my modem was.

The fucking water from the washing machine blew a circuit, so I fucked around with the circuit breaker for a while, reactivating and deactivating my internet once, before finally getting power back everywhere.

I randomly decided to check up on the how the whole video-game collecting thing is doing this days, how prices for things have changed since I was last buying stuff up years ago.

I would've previously guessed my collection of stuff was worth maybe $10,000-$15,000.

Looking at it now, I'm sitting on like $50,000-$75,000+ worth of shit and it's both exhilarating and terrifying.
I've always been looking at it from a buyers' perspective, what values a retailer would be taking this stuff in for and not what it would be worth re-selling to a collector. That, plus just how much all of this stuff has spiked thanks to the explosion of Let's Players and the Speed Running community.

I gave myself a legit panic attack just hammering different properties into Ebay and looking at completed listings and I have no idea what the fuck to do with all of this now.

Even random fucking strategy guides and Nintendo Power issues I have for random games that people were giving to me or throwing out are worth like $40, $60, $80 in some cases what the actual fuck.

that sounds like a good reputable place to store you newly treasured expensive merchandise. I too have many expensive things that would be perfect to store, perhaps you can recommend me your storage vendor's location, and for no reason at all give me the number of your storage locker.
