It just works!

It's kinda like Oblivion and enemies auto-leveling to scale with you, except they level in faster than you and it's timed. So while you start the game at level 1 and fight random hobos with knives and rags, you can beat the bandits at that point and gather strength
And then once you are a few days in the bandits are now level 5 and their gear becomes roughly equivalent to the best stuff you have at that point
Then when you reach 30 days in all the bandits become level 10, and their gear is flat out better than what you can buy in the shops, minus that one shop that charges 4k(Likely everything you've earned up to this point) for a single piece of armour. The bandits ALL have that armour or similar levels of it. At this point you're at maybe level 7 for one or two of your units if you really got lucky and maximised experience gain
I can't be sure if they scale past that because all my guys just die when I have to fight to earn money, and any fight I go into means they'll die and I can't afford to replace them and their gear. Also if I don't fight then I end up both behind the curve and run out of money so they all abandon me for not getting paid

Meanwhile, my guys are just okay. I have some light chainmail and heavy leather armours, with good weaponry but none of my guys have the skills to use it. Those who do have the skills to use their weaponry often end up crippled with an injury which puts them out of action for several days
Training up replacements is near impossible because there are no easy targets for them to fight to gain experience out of anymore. You hire a guy at day 30+ and they're immediately expected to compete with a level 6+ bandit who wears high end gear and wields a high quality weapon
Even if you get the guy decent armour and a good weapon, he's still going to be shit and underleveled so he's useless for at least 10+ days of training. Assuming he isn't instantly headshot by a crossbow and deleted

How the shit am I even supposed to deal with this?
It feels less like a game every time I try, and more like I'm trying to solve an optimization puzzle
I don't feel like I'm making tactical mistakes either, I get on the high ground, maximise my chances to hit and minimise theirs, and yet my guys get tired a few turns in while the enemy keeps going, my guys barely ever land a hit and when they do it's almost fully absorbed by the armour, and they get hit practically every other attack which often takes off a huge chunk of health and wrecks their armour

Hyper Light Drifter is pretty fun. Hard, though. The bird cultist boss took me about 10 tries.

Speaking of, I toughed out the Battle Brothers thing
I may have lost almost everyone multiple times, but by taking the loot of the dead guys every time I've forced my way into getting good stuff and high quality armour by saving up
Not endgame tier, but better than bandits at least, and a few key mercs on my team survived so I can keep going. And according to guides, I should have multiple endgame gear equipped mercenaries now so I'm probably just fucked whenever shit starts going down

The problem? The idiot newbies I replaced the dead with can't do shit while wearing the good armour because it's too heavy for them. I rely almost entirely on the pikes and bows in my back line for damage now because the frontline literally can't swing more than twice without getting exhausted. And while this is going on, the enemies have gone up to be even stronger. I now need to deal with multiple nearly impossible to hit orks with platemail every other fight. Massive slab of iron for a shield that I can't break with an ork very skilled at shield use using it to block everything.
One or two I can take by tiring them out and then surrounding them. Four becomes pretty close to impossible

That is why true high value targets got two torpedoes historically. If you only shoot one, you risk it and that's your fault entirely.

After thoroughly reinstalling and remodding SHIII it turns out that no, 1940 is the year the war ended for me. It is no longer possible to start new patrols and I should probably relaunch my game.

After a mere 85 hours of gameplay I finally finished Persona 5.
Im not sure if this game is superior to Persona 4 golden, but it's certainly one of the best games I've played in a good while, now it's time for NG+ with merciless difficulty

Thimbleweed Park is a good game, like Ron Gilbert's previous games, but that ending was pretty shitty

That sucks. I've learned to only half panic whenever a drone sees me but my god once it sees you shooting it does nothing

it might not be accurate (to real life), but it works

STRAFE is really good, dunno why there's all this hate, I think the problem lies in the marketing being "IT'S LIKE 90S ERA SHOOTERS EXTREME RAD WOAH" when the game is really a roguelite through and through

the sound design needs work but the music is amazing, the gameplay is fun, it's not a bad game at all

The whole game is a huge fuk u to lore, but once you start to pretend the dialogue has no option other than the bottom one, it's alright. The shooting feels pretty nice, man

but something in new vegas pissed me off so much that it made me delete all of the saves on my computer and uninstall the game

I spent my whole playthrough trying to get the NCR to like me by doing a buttload of quests for them but oh no

oh no, they just had to ruin it for me

I got myself to liked and almost accepted (the rank where the dude gives you keys to a hidden bunker with the ranger armor and other cool goodies like that) but here's the kicker there's a rare bug that resets your relations with a faction back to neutral and that means i'd have to do all the other quests again but OH NO, NOT ON MY LEVELLED CHARACTER because you CAN'T REDO QUESTS. I would have to start the entire game over again from SCRATCH and redo all the annoying terrible quests that I HATED. ALL THE NCR QUESTS ARE EITHER TERRIBLE SPEECH CHECKS OR BY GOD. BY GOD. HELIOS POWER PLANT NEVER AGAIN. It doesn't even make any sense that i'm not accepted after I:
Restored power to the NCR controlled areas only even though i could have routed it anywhere else (LOW LEVEL HELIOS REEEEEEEEE)
Stopped the monorail into the strip from getting sabotaged and destroyed from a secrit legion dude
HELPED THEIR CAMP OF DEATH COVERED IN NOTES OF PEOPLE GETTIN' SHOT AN SHIZ RECOVER AND DESTROY THE LEGION FILLED TOWN FILLED WITH THEM THERE LEGIONS
WHAT WHY REEEEEEEEE FUK NEW VEGAS AT LEAST FALLOUT 4 DOESN'T DO THAT

You always have stuff like Scalies without Wings for that though, right? (I assume I butchered the name, sorry about that)

I wouldn't mind another slow paced shooter on the market. Something like KF2 but both sides have guns and there is no sprint button.

I miss the original Ace of Spades even though it was pretty shallow and I think script kiddies easily haxxored it. I liked touching up my client side ironsights and I think removing crosshairs so I had to aim down the gun just because it felt more fun.

I modded my AoS for Fallout weapons. 3's 10mm SMG, NV's lever-action shotgun, and 1/2's sniper rifle and frag grenade.
They didn't look very good, of course.
They didn't perform, either, once the update to buff the SMG out the ass and nerf the rifle came out.

As for AWSW, yeah, no, no deathclaws. Only an alcoholic, a depressive, a sociopath and a fruit salad.

I never bothered with societies because when I bought it the game ran like dogshit on my rig (which was genuinely awful a t the time) - now I haven't bothered because I could just play simcity 4 or rct2

This just in: Lizard plays Scaler, surprises no one.

TITS 3 is fun but the bosses are a clusterfuck, sometimes being reasonably challenging and other times being hellishly difficult.

Tempted to pick up Fallout 2 again.
Dissuade me, I don't want to play too many games at once.

You've have to go to all that effort to find the community mod to patch it and then you'd enjoy all that time with your talking deathclaw, you know, the one no other game has. Maybe there's a mod to make them even more cool?

And I don't think there's that many mods for 2.
Maybe in a few years the Russkis will have done it, the absolute madmen, and Molten Clouds will be out.
