Got into the series at dark souls, got demons souls for ps3. It was pretty fun but insanely hard, and locking content behind world tendency was pretty shit

Demons Souls was rad because people invading and fucking you up actually mattered.
Other players could ruin your game, and you could ruin other people's games.

There were a limited number of opportunities to restore your living self in a playthrough, and dying while not in soul form turned the tendency of your world black, which just made the game even harder and could lock you out of doing certain events with certain NPC's. If you got invaded and shit on too many times while playing you would effectively miss out on those events and your game would ramp up significantly in difficulty. Invading players could attack certain NPC's and kill them before you were able to interact with them.

Shit sucked.

It finally happened. I remember when all of the people running for headmin first showed up on this server (except for Anon3, who doesn't count because he doesn't actually want to be a headmin.)

Thank christ that I never figured out how to become an admin candidate when I was new enough to think that was a good thing.

that actually...kind of makes me not want to play it now.

i like how in DaS and BB you can invade people and erase progress, and im fine with them being able to make your difficulty higher, but making it so you're locked out of story content, whether through killing npc's or other means, is where i draw the line. ill probably still buy it, but if that kind of shit is still in there im definitely playing it offline. i'd rather keep the story and miss out on player interaction than vice versa any day, especially with from's games.

It's probably better that way.

On the topic of positive things, I got into the developer bootcamp I was applying for. Now I just have to see if they'll let me register for the session in September as opposed to the earlier ones.

today i fell asleep in my own bed then woke up in a hospital bed because my mother had thought i had snapped my spine while sleeping
somehow i was carried by medics into an ambulance while sound asleep
they checked my back and x-rayed it all the while i'm still fucking sleeping and then deemed me perfectly fine and put me on patient leave
i have no idea what my mother was thinking
she's an experienced nurse

somehow managed to finish my online homework from two different classes before the cutoff at 10:55pm when I started at ~7pm. I need to stop procrastinating and try and work on it during the week. but even though I'm making this post it will probably never happen.

Spent the last 36 some odd hours drunk.

Ate some pizza though.

I still don't have my own internet and I'm sure I look weird as fuck going to Taco Bell everyday to fill out applications and generally just slav squat everywhere. Also their internet blocks 4chan for some reason?? I'm sure I piss off all the other laptop/tablet folk when I try to play spessmans for a brief moment. Not to mention it takes about an hour to make it to a city anyway.
