- When people try to get on the RnD Terminal when you are already on it. Goddamn it, people, don't you see I'm trying to do research here?! Hell, I don't even have the thing researched sometime, give it time! It's the kind of thing that makes me think about just setting up a secondary RnD Terminal...

- When I see new blood showing up in Science, saying "I don't know how to do X". If you want to science, you gotta be willing to learn how to handle at least one section of the lab : RnD is just a bleeding shopping list, Xenobio is just a matter of getting red slimes ASAP for easy mutation (and hope you get upgraded by RnD), and Toxins...Well, okay, Toxins can take a bit for newcomers. Telescience to a lesser extent, it is fairly rare to see this department being setup.

- How Remote Xenobio is on Meta. It's a low maintenance job, so I can work on RnD while the slimes are munching monkeys - but goddamn you have to go through so many doors on Meta between the Lab and the Xenobio section, it's not even funny.

- In case of blob, stop pressuring the bloody scientist for research, they're doing their best : as long as they get mats and shotguns, they'll be fine, they don't need you breathing down their neck.

yeah i coded it just get sand (or ash dust or whatever the lavaland equivalent is) and throw it at somebody. it doesnt work if they have glasses or a mask/hat that covers the eyes

To be honest, I prefer playing HoP as a fake captain. If there is no captain, I go into their quarters, dress up in their clothes, get myself a loyalty implant, edit the spare ID so my name's on it and paint my PDA gold.

After that I just act like I've always been captain and nobody ever questions me about it, even if they saw me run down the halls as the HoP.

Plus the cap's gloves and exosuits are superior to most of sec's equipment (The gloves have fire and shock immunity for example).

I like arresting HoPs who run into security like they own the place. Nothing feels better than hearing "B-but I have access, I'm allowed here."

Or any other head of staff really, had one CE once who kept trying to hack in to get a laser gun because 'X is a traitor, I need a gun for it' who didn't seem to get that he didn't have the right to hack into the armoury, culminating in me just brigging the bastard after a long argument.

Its funny that bucklecuffing is one of the things that some people see as wrong without knowing why it was wrong in the first place.

so apparently there's a new thing where at roundstart as engineer you steal the hand teleporter then set a beacon at cargo then sell the PA to cargo for some god forsaken reason?

this happened once when i was CE and boy it rustled me hard. i did end up killing the engineer and going to borg him, but the cheeky fuck just taunted me as a brain with no remorse. didn't even capitalize his sentences. i just threw his brain in the disposals grinder.

Security is fucking useless, except when they are fighting antags and getting valids, and they should never be relied on.

When hubbies play command roles. Just had a captain who didn't talk at all, so I demoted him. When he finally did talk, it was "Hi " I ahelped but never got a response.

One of the things i hate the most during mining:

Don't take stuff you didn't kill/mine. Holy shit, had a miner a few days ago taking the goliath plates from a tendril I cleared alone. Their excuse? "Sorry I'm unrobust."

That's easily the best way to get shot and then cuffed with cable and thrown in maint with no ID.

Lack of a captain's hardsuit bothers me. It leads to stuff like this:

Then, there's the fact that captain's space suit has no tesla protection that CMO, RD, CE or HoS, security, atmos or engineering hardsuits get when coupled with insulated gloves. No built-in lights, either. Why would Captain's space suit be worse than literally everything else.

Because its a throwback to the days when the captains stuff all looked fancy and neat and was actually kind of shit, instead of being flat-out better than the rest.

Also the proliferation of hardsuits is kinda dumb, but people would cry if the extraneous ones were taken away and replaced with normal space suits now.
(I'm pretty sure only engineering-type hardsuits get tesla protection actually. Tesla protection is also mostly moot now that it fires exploding electricity or whatever that is)

What are you talking about? That's blatantly false.

At the time it was added, the captains space suit was the best in the game and people threw a fit about him being "turned into a space marine." Not to mention there were only two jetpacks on station, so adding his was a huge deal.

The real answer is:

Goof added a specific check for hardsuits, as in the object path, so nothing else counts.

And why doesn't he use the Siemens coefficient like every other shock action?

I don't like getting the whole place cluttered up with shit, and as a customer i appreciate having a clean table to sit next to so it is easier to drink my own drink and put it down. I keep all the fancy stuff i make in the showcase, and maybe a single three mile island ice tea/Singulo at each end for decoration
