Streaming Rules Adjustment (More Freedom)

Howdy,

Headmins have expressed interest in loosening the streaming rules. I am fine with this, but I think that the community should also be fine with whatever changes go through.

The last discussion we had about streaming enabled roundstart cult and revs.

Here's the wiki page on streaming. (It has all the restrictions that streamers need to follow.)

So far the streaming program has been largely sleepy with minimal need for investigation.

We have 19 streamers, Livrah is our most active streamer by far.

Should any of the following be unrestricted?

• Ghost Vision on LRP
• Ghost Ears on LRP
• Ghost roaming on LRP (you wouldn't have to orbit your body
• Round start observing for MRP/LRP

For me personally, since we don't have cash or ELO on the line it largely comes down to what feels alright even if there are risks of people metagaming. I would also prefer not to have to walk back any freedoms we allow, which is why I'd want to carry out any changes as a trial before committing to them.

I understand the reasoning for it is you can valid antags on lrp all the time but it's still funny most of these are lrp exclusive. Anyway remove all of it.

while elo isnt on the line, time is. They should be treated all the same because you wasting my hour doesnt make me any less upset than me losing a few magic numbers that have no tangible meaning beyond how good i am at the game.

I could honestly not be bothered about any of the streamer restrictions as long as its clear viewers simply arent allowed to play while viewing the stream and if caught you eat a metacomm ban whether they are actually using the info or "not". If youre going to allow it to begin with then all these "well you cant ghost ears" stuff is dumb since by allowing it youre already at the point where youre subjecting everyone else to have to agree with what you deem is acceptable out of game communication (which is why I personally find streaming to the open world a bit inconsiderate of all players, should be to known people who you can hold responsible personally like friends to not play while watching you). Ghost ears vs. getting knowledge from a place across the station because youre tuned into a stream (made easier with TTS you dont even have to watch the text on 2 monitors) is really a senseless distinction.

It's like prefixing your statement with "not to be rude" and then saying something incredibly offensive, the meat of the issue supersedes the little pedantic softeners being put on.
