Why in the goddamn hell did she decide to use spoons as her analogy in the scenario? Why is it spoons is the fucking currency of energy you spend to do a thing? Spoons was the best she could come up with? Not like... Gasoline in a car. Or electricity in a battery. Or calories even. But spoons.

are you asking this legitimately as a question because it is answered like, pretty early in the wikipedia article that you linked yourself
