Spin up US MRP 2

The previous host wouldn't allow this without EU MRP being established first. This seemed kind of arbitrary to me.

We should try it. Many have said Campbell's EU ping was a deal breaker. Let's see what happens.

Jokes aside, I feel like we should stand up Sybil again and see what pop is like. If it's still middling like it was before MSOver, we can make it MRP2.

I think a US MRP2 server when manuel rarely hits 80 pop is pointless.

You should rename Sybil into New Basil because many if not a majority of those left playing (on the hours I peek my head in) are from there.
As for MRP/LRP I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. I just want the name.

Manuel would need a population cap for MRP2 to work, which it currently doesn't have (it used to, but the servers were reset during the MSO event) or else everyone is just going to play on the server with the population on it. Look at monke station's 2nd mrp server, it's dead at sybil-level values of population because the main server hogs all the population without a population cap to encourage movement to the other server.

Shut down Sybil for a week reopen it with big fanfare in a week see if pop stays.

This. why not just rename Sybil Manuel and rename Manuel Sybil? there's enough sybil players on Manuel as is because of the pop decline. this will just weed out anyone that wants MRP in their game soup and they will go there.

We've got another thread up about Manyy being uncapped and getting too swole to control. This thread was made in response to it.

I don't know who's right at this point, I just want to fix whatever the problem is.

The problems is the lack of players on both sides wanting different styles of gameplay, on a server where they dont have 300 ping. AKA, we dont have enough players for sybil, and they see manuel have its consistent players thougout the day, and flock to manuel because its more fun to play with 40 others than just 3. theres no real solution to this other than MY BRILLIANT PLAN!!!

I say we TAKE sybil in a form of territory war and turn it into the MRP server. if Sybil mains dont want it, then ill gladly take it and play on it, turn it into MRP. my connections not an issue. if they complain, then sure. come back to sybil. ill go back to Manuel and turn it MRP. you got your server and its pop back I still get to MRP.

Spin up Sybil as a mrp server. No one is using it anyway so why not switch it over to a mrp server and lower Manuel to lrp. It'll be like the old days of Bagil and Sybil switching player pop due to people following the pop.

A population cap wouldn't work either. We tried this when Sybil was real popular and regularly hitting the popcap by establishing Sybil-2 as an overflow server. It was constantly dead because people wanted to play with the community of their preferred server and instead of going to the overflow server while the people they wanted to play with were having fun on the original server they just wouldn't play.

The reality will be - still need more pop in general. Maybe try again once more of the dust has settled. Also see plans to make a tg-hosted quasi-independent HRP server similar to TGMC.
