Why should this appeal be accepted?:

taking the role of Head of Personnel in a lowpop round requires the foresight to take on the necessary responsibilities of the acting captain, setting up the SM and securing the disk for example.


Arrest and demotion was made for, Dereliction of Duty "To willfully abandon an obligation that is critical to the station's continued operation." not "for not taking the acting captain role " just the disk.

in this case nuclear disk's safety is cruel for stations continued operation, hereby, not securing the nuclear disk is something "critical". Plus, he was the only command until I arrived. Just because he can refuse the acting captainship, doesn't make him immune to space law. Game announces "Acting captain X on the desk" so It requires for me to see him as acting captain UNTIL he refuses. Which he refused after I have arrived and didn't secured the disk between that time. "I've already told you that it is NOT their duty because they are not the captain, mate" I didn't even forced him to accept acting captainship. I only said him to secure the disk as it is the only thing I cared, arrest was rightful after he flee'd the scene and attacked me with his baton during the course of actions, that is solely enough for demotion. Even if he's not the captain at the moment like you said, it doesn't change the fact that Head of Personnel is the second in command after captain and he is obliged to do necessary work.

Also I have followed this along with the space law for demotion;

"So if one of your guys isn't acting like an appropriate team player, don't hesitate to show them who's boss." -Wiki.

Roleplaywise, you can consider that a mutiny because he put the station into a massive risk by not taking the disk.

This was supposed to be a weekban from command, reducing.

For one, I don't believe the HoP should have been demoted for "dereliction of duty" when they handed it over to you to take care of it, this is really unfair to the HoP as they at least tried to address it by handing over the responsibilities to you to take care.
It felt too "letter of the law" to the point of dickery to even be considered.

I'm not reducing it beyond that, I messed up by not applying a sec ban as well because this is technically supposed to be both.

My problem is not him doesn't want to take the acting captainship (taking HoP on lowpop and refusing acting captainship is suggesting incompetence/lack of professionalism enough to demote someone), it's him not securing the disk from the roundstart to encounter with me. Crime is still crime I even asked him to secure the disk, very before the said event happened. Appyling IC suggestions on MRP should not be a problem. And I was also wondering what rule did I broke too.

Think the scenerio where I haven't arrived as command, he would be running around and refusing to be acting captain, eventually leading something worse. Responsibilities are meant to be taken if someone willingly picks a command role especially in lowpop. This is both common sense and correct roleplay.,

You were being a dick, the guy had in good faith offered you the role of acting captain and you decided to enforce "space law" so strictly that it breaches on just being a complete ass.

That's my whole point there. I have repeated that in comms too.

He refused to take the disk BEFORE and AFTER I've had arrived. That's willing to refuse an obligated duty, and it has been neglected. I have landed, took my gear, walked around, there was enough time to prove that he purposely didn't secured the disk, as you have said if it was reasonable at 1 hour, it's not like 10 seconds either. It's also fail rp as well.

(edit: He had the intent to not securing the disk until he tossed me the ID, you can imagine after he said "you do it", Okay, I'm the captain now, but before I was the captain, you were the captain or at least had the spare, and you had the intent to abandon the disk. İntent is clear, I, as captain, demoted him for his intent of putting the station on danger by ignoring a disk that can destroy the entire station. That was my IC reasoning along with the law logs show that I have asked/warned him, it's not like "hey have you secured the disk", "no" *batons*, nothing spontaneous here)

also you haven't reduced the ban duration as it has passed 24h. (aka. 6 days remain)

And yes, I'd like to raise this up to headmin appeal because you haven't said which rule spescifically I broke apart from calling me a dick referring to 1st rule. And I also object that, ruining someone's game is an objective judgement (say, purposely leaving the disk at the desk ruin's my and other peoples game potentially) and I also do not think I have committed anything beyond in-character.

So my take as the Headmin of Scroogesec Present is you gotta change courses. Try to develop even a quantum of understanding about how your actions can not only negatively impact everyone else's shifts, but also impact your own. Like, you were the architect for the events for a nuke op to spawn in and ruin the shift.

So, try not doing that again. That's a good start.

For real, though, please have some empathy for your fellow player. This has been a consistent issue with you for months in which you do not consider the fact that you are playing a Video Game with other Real Life People that can have their rounds ruined by oddly sadistic decisions. I already stated I was going to reduce it to a week as it was supposed to be a week. There will be no further reduction from me.

This is not because you convinced me, this is because I fucked up the ban. The original ban was supposed to be a week headban and secban. I fucked up by not checking and finding out that the secban that was supposed to be placed was not there. I do not feel like applying the secban because it feels unfair for me to retroactively apply one after the ban appeal.

The headmins will decide what will happen from there.
