im breaking the count with a double post here but like i really feel like we’ve lost the plot in favor of being ego tripping assholes. i opened the tg discord after i made the above post and got reminded of what this “game” is all about: having. fucking. fun.

Not that I want people to be going around and going “SKIBIDI SPRUNKI!!! YAY!” but i feel like people should be able to fuckin mess with TTS for fun for just one split second and not be a bland-ass jobbie fluoride staring at everyone (and, yes, the in character shit fucking causes people to become jobbies that fluoride stare at everyone. people dont fucking talk anymore.)

I agree whole heartedly with you. I said it for months until the wallening happened. That was the real shit that made me realize that nobody in charge knew what most players wanted. I would have seen the writing on the wall, but the perspective shift looked awful and broke everything so it was hard to see.

Joking aside, I knew there would be no recovery after the wallening because nobody wanted to make the /tg/ the players wanted, they only made the /tg/ they wanted, and crossed their fingers that players would show up. Now that there is real competition in the form of Monke, /tg/ can't get by from just being one of the big servers anymore. I feel bad because I like Scriptis, so if anything I want /tg/ to succeed for him, but I don't see any of the headmins or coders realizing the trajectory of the server and making any meaningful changes before it's too late. I kinda left SS13 with the expectation that if I ever wanted to come back, /tg/ would be around, now I don't know if that will actually be true. People are starting to be disillusioned with the way things were being run, just like I had been criticized for, It's both affirming, and concerning. Outside of some kind of great change or upheaval, I really don't think the future of /tg/ is looking bright. There are a lot of people that would love to see /tg/ flourish, but there are people that are holding it back. You look at Monke and that's the place /tg/ should have been at, but the ball was dropped due to shortsighted self interest. There was a new tide the community always begged for, Monke was new the tide, and most of you didn't even know it happened.

You can only say "Go play somewhere else" before the amount of people that actually do that start to add up. (Brought it back around to counting so you can't give me shit for my post.)
