For 1 week. Put up a new MOTD or notication that's how's when you join the game that encourages players to play as a hard-core random character

Reminds of how Runescape has servers that are permadeath. It would be funny to see an exclusively hardcore random server and see who can survive the longest.

I think as a MOTD it’d be neat but not very consequential. Loads clueless from my Nonhumand Heads event despite yappaholics anonymous tier MOTD. If we wanted to do this in significant fashion it’d take like, mandating it. I’m not a huge fan of mandating it, but it’s a neat idea.

Is there some sort of pop up notification headmins could set

I poked around before but the closest thing to a pop up is the admin messages we leave when we do things like noting without the user present, and that’s explicitly an administration thing. MOTD’s the closest we got unless Timber’s got some crazy+ alternative I don’t know about

Hardcore random can roll some particularly nasty combinations which I wouldn't force on anyone

If someone wants to play hardcore, let them, but let's not try do any more than that

I like the idea of encouraging people to do this, maybe hold a leaderboard event to see who can get the most points, but forcing it would be cringe.

I never said I wanted it forced. I said to put up a message to encourage it. Maybe a discord announcement + MOTD. And maybe daily updates of the leader board
