PC building/Upgrading
Today I put a new processor in my rig, it turned on, but I didn't get any HDMI input.
I got scared so I put the old one back in and it worked.
Thoughts?

Do you have a graphics card or do you use integrated graphics?

I have a graphics card, The new processor doesn't have integrated graphics, and I don't know if the old one does.

Okay so I decided to just use the processor to build a new set up and HOLY FUCK it's the best piece of machinery I've had the pleasure of touching.

Re: PC building/Upgrading
Good for you man, I recently bought a new SSD and its skipping files whenever I put like a folder in it, like downloading games from steam or the internet or just sending a folder over from another drive. I have no fucking idea WHY, and I bought it to be my main video game drive so it SUCKS because now games will just crash randomly because this random ass fuck off file is just not there! I've done every test i can think of, health test, size test, stability test, the windows built-in disk checker, they all say "everything's fine" i feel like i'm actually going insane

It was in the GPU. Turns out the processor was incompatible and HP didn't release and BIOS updates for it the bastards.oranges wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 10:09 pmwas the HDMI input plugged into the motherboard HDMI out or the GPU outItseasytosee2me wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 7:51 am Today I put a new processor in my rig, it turned on, but I didn't get any HDMI input.

Googling this dropped me back into the 90s, you know it's a piece of crap when they're still using green solder mask.
