FWIW the original reason they were turned on was to make assistants less anonymous and easier to track. Detective forensics, and just visual identification are made a lot easier when everyone isn't wearing similar clothing.

I think it would be neat if assistant jumpsuit colour was pop-controlled but i'm always happy to see the return of the rainbow

afaicr paprika added rainbow tide because he thought it would reduce greytide by making everyone in the crowd less anonymous. so basically what you just said

We could solve this once and for all by having a config setting that automatically flips it every other year. In fact, year of the x features would be neat.

Not to turn this into a coding solution but honestly I am VERY on board with this being a station trait. It fits the M.O. of them perfectly.

We would like to offer coders the opportunity to add a jumpsuit color station trait and/or jumpsuit color prefs

We'll also be enabling colored jumpsuits at a config level
