You can play it with people who just scream over you and people who think that's a reasonable way to argue but then you won't have much fun

I'd be up for trying some of this if we can at least agree that people who very loudly keep repeating "(Person) is the traitor! Kill him!" and not letting that person even explain themselves are probably more likely to be the traitor than whoever they're yelling about

Personally, I find it not worth playing without friends. I played less than 15 rounds and got sick of it super fast.

It's very simple, lighthearted, quick paced and rounds are forgettable.

If youre looking for something quick to play on a break it's not bad, but even then, there are better games for that.

I mean it just kinda is. Among us uses boring tasks to give everyone something to do and theres not much beyond simple sabotage and one sided murder for regular people. Games like TTT give people a way to fight back against the killers but the tasks side is entirely map dependent. SS13 on the other hand does everything among us does while doing way way more in all aspects. One of the only reasons among us is so popular is both due to the fact a literal child could play it with you and the fact its the new funny meme game. Not many children or even adults take the time to learn arguably better games like ss13 and TTT.

Medbay is going to get upgraded to be able to quickly heal people
Geneticists will start handing out powers
Your random steal objective is going to get picked up by fuckboy john who wants to rename everything xenobiology lab
Xenobiology and robotics are going to start spitting out new ghost roles faster than you can effectively kill them
Other bullshits gonna spawn on you

Station Greentext is finishing the BSA/DNA Vault/Satellites. I still think having these spawn SOMETHING on the map to get them started rather than being cargo locked is the way to go.

my friends who got me into ss13 and have since somewhat stopped playing it have been playing among us with me recently and asked if i thought it was at all similar to SS13
my answer was "not really, because if you think somebody's a traitor in ss13 you can just kill them"

i will say that i think among us captures the paranoia aspect of ss13 that we have long since abandoned, HUGELY in part because being alone with a traitor has the potential to just instakill you with no recourse, and with stuns being long since removed that is just not the case anymore

i was playing werewolf on forums in like 2007 and eventually moved to epicmafia before anyone knew what it was and now thanks to youtube children have run social deduction games into the ground. it's also sad that a round of mafia is far more fun and engaging that 99% of rounds of this game. it became too much about the combat and not enough about the killing.
