Midround Joined the shift together as Jesse and Walter White from Breaking bad and barely had any IC communication outside of rather referential stuff, even got themself mathingly outfitted together without any IC talking. Also Joined the Science Department together making this look worse

Your side of the story: I message my friend (Dubmiles) if he would like to play SS13 and he agrees, so we join /tg/ and I message him this idea. "We should do a funny gimmick where we be breaking bad characters and be scientists". We both join the server and before hand we agreed to get clothes and go to our department. We get clothes and head to science, then to medical to make funny drug. I then say ingame "JESSE" "THE GOVERNMENT" "THEY"RE ON THE SHUTTLE" "WE NEED TO FORM A SUICIDE PACT". I try knocking him over to fireman carry him, he stands up and i tell him ingame to lay down. I lift him and we jump out of the airlock and get perma banned.
Why you think you should be unbanned: I do agree it was a bit justified, being as we were clearly shitposting on a heavy roleplay server, but metaplanning? we agreed to join a job at the same time, I don't see the ill intention in that. Sure, we did agree beforehand that we would get dressed, but I don't understand why the punishment was as harsh as it was. We weren't trying to get an unfair advantage, we didn't even communicate with eachother during the round, we both just knew "get dressed go to science" just a little gimmick with some expected planning beforehand. Why isn't this a ban from Manuel? We're banned from every server including light roleplay.

Glad to see you made this appeal

It was clear that this whole gimmick was definitely more pre-planned then in the moment meta-commed, it was the fact that you two very silently committed to the gimmick up until your first real interaction. And this incident was very edge case given while we do not have full clarifications regarding meta-planning, metacomming is justifiably zeroish tolerance so it was hard to justify the very silent 5 minutes of time that passed as your cooperation being purely coincidental.

Too add to this. Seeing as the gimmick was done on the MRP server, it was more OOCish and referential for a pre-planned gimmick making it much more noticeable but not necessarily more egregious. And as I stated in the ticket to you in particular It didn't feel like there was much good faith to begin with.



Given the particular nature of this incident, seeing as it's your first real fully ban worthy offense and how you do understand a degree of what was wrong with it. (To note I thought the spacing yourselves finale was funny personally)
I'm mostly glad that you and your friend took the time to appeal. I think most would be willing to give you another shot at things, as well I do think I may have been overly harsh with the verdict

Ill be unbanning you both rather shortly following this appeal process and linking that it was appealed. If you feel there is anything else I should add I will be leaving the thread open for a short time before locking out replies

I'd suggest not to do this kind of gimmick on Manuel. It's funny and I'd enjoy it on like Sybil or Basil, but Manuel's our MRP server and we kinda don't do stuff that's ripped straight from a TV show.

It's probably not a bad idea to ahelp and let the admins know you're doing a gimmick, but as long as you guys are discussing everything in-game, it shouldn't be a huge issue.
