The Autolathe is capable of printing, among other things:

- Basic tools

- Circuits for APCs/Airlocks/etc (Read: Shit that gets broken and engineers have to fix a lot)

- RCD cartridges



Basically, they print a bunch of shit that is useful for engineers, it's also useful for times when the silo is gone because some idiot emptied it, the miners aren't doing their job, etc.

I can't think of a reason they shouldn't have one, esp when the board is in our storage. You wouldn't ask me to build my RnD console and circuit imprinter/protolathe every fucking round and it's not exactly exotic.

You could argue "it's easy just build one", and like, yeah, but you could say that for almost anything, why not just build the freezers for the SM every shift start, why not build the SMES every shift.
