Making Lights from Autolathe
I've found myself having no lights when I want them, and though you can make them via glass and light replacer, I'd like to be able to make them in the autolathe.
200 glass per light would be my suggestion, but that's entirely up to change.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
Am i missing something here? You can already make lights in the Autolathe. Hell, you can even recycle broken lights in an Autolathe and make a nice new one from the materials.

This, only problem is each light tube in the autolathe isn't named properly.Alex Crimson wrote:Am i missing something here? You can already make lights in the Autolathe. Hell, you can even recycle broken lights in an Autolathe and make a nice new one from the materials.

They're light bulb and light tube I belive. Though a make x5 and x10 option would be nice or the ablility just to create a replacement light box straight from the autolathe.

This is what I meant to say, more or less. One of these for 4,000 glass would be good.DemonFiren wrote:A replacement box. Please. PLEASE.

How about having x5/x10 options in the Autolathe on most things? THAT would be useful

^Yeah that
Not sure about boxes, but the Autolathe(and Protolathe) could use a better interface, one that allows you to make x5/x10/custom amounts of the items. Printing out one light tube at a time when you need 30 of them is annoying as hell.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
This sounds good but then consider that you've now got to figure out how to cart around 10+ lights. Which probably means manually loading those lights into a box which is then about as tedious as printing individual lights.Cecily wrote:How about having x5/x10 options in the Autolathe on most things? Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
Hold box in your hand>pick up light tube>press E>repeat
Would that not work? Annoying, but still infinitely less annoying than printing out 20 of the damn things.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
That would probably be tricky. I think the only things that print in multiples from the autolathe are stacking. I'm not sure how much code work would need to be done to print multiples like the protolathe. Personally I'd rather the machine printed a full box. Thats pretty simple and then you don't need to fuss with grabbing some cardboard and making your own light box.Cecily wrote:How about having x5/x10 options in the Autolathe on most things? Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
AFAIK you can get light boxes from some crate in cargo. Adding the multiple print thing to autolathes, that the proto has shouldn't be too hard (auto in NT had it pretty sure...), and light boxes should work like plant bags, click on a tile and it will scoop all the lights it can from that tile.

Hopefully myself and glasses get around to renovating cargo including queuables as well as maybe autopackaging.

It's not like cardboard is only moderately useful, and can be ordered in stacks of 50 from Cargo at a really good point cost.

Plan is to include a packaging machine.Violaceus wrote:NO to printing whole boxes of lights.
Without changing how autolathe actually works, it could and would be exploited for infinite boxes and cardboards.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
How is infinite cardboard a big deal? It certainly isn't as good as infinite donk pockets, and that is already a thing on the rare occasions that microwave gets upgraded.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
Yes, but how are you going to store your infinite donk pockets without an infinite source of cardboard boxes?
It seems pretty clear to me that this would lead to traitors doing nothing but farming donk pockets and boxes all round which would be terrible for obvious reasons.

Re: Making Lights from Autolathe
You can seriously just order 3 boxes of replacement lights for 20 points there's no need for the overlap

There is when Cargo is notorious for wasting points on stupid stuff.
