Re: Coiax
Negative.
Has been forcing Donut Station for awhile (votes for donut himself and resolves ties in favor of donut). Nitpicks on small things and goes straight to noting, even when normal talking would do.
On a sidenote there is no round type called Hiveminds, its called Assimilators and saying "its hiveminds" refers to the current situation (it = situation, not OOC in IC). Nitpicking on semantics is pretty petty, much worse when you mark people down for it.

it's painfully obvious you got noted for saying "it's [roundtype]" and tried to ruleslawyer by saying "it's not the exact name so it's ic"Istoprocent1 wrote:Negative.

saying "it's revs" is bad even though the mode is called "revolution(aries?)"; we all know what you mean by it
also what makes it bad is the "it's" which implies "the roundtype is" which implies "there are no other antags"
this was talked about a while ago in policy discussion iirc
also its not forcing donut if he runs a vote, forcing it would just be using the "next map" verb
there's nothing against admins voting on maps
there's also nothing against admins tiebreaking

Re: Coiax
And its painfully obvious that you are hyping for your boy Coiax, even though this thread is about feedback. Saying "We have a hivemind presence." is not different from "It's hiveminds.", since both refer to the situation. Nobody called out the round type, which was Assimilators.somerandomguy wrote:it's painfully obvious you got noted for saying "it's [roundtype]" and tried to ruleslawyer by saying "it's not the exact name so it's ic"Istoprocent1 wrote:Negative.

Re: Coiax
I've gone through all five of the notes he's made since he was added officially (there were some from 2016 when he was tempminned a few times). Two are test or meme notes. One is a note on someone's name. Two are for OOC in IC. I don't see a trend of this whole "nitpicks on small things and goes straight to noting" you're talking about.
It's standard for us to note for OOC in IC to help maintain immersion ingame. A ton of the notes I give are for OOC in IC. The way you're phrasing it ("its hiveminds" ,"it might be hiveminds", "hiveminds confirmed") makes it sound like you're referencing a round type rather than stating the presence of something or even the situation is that there are hiveminds.

All I am saying is that my experience has been negative. Saying "We have X" over "Its X" is just nitpicking on semantics rather than immersion breaking OOC in IC. You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.

Again, just saying that saying "We might be dealing with a hivemind presence" or "We have a confirmed hivemind presence" or even replacing hiveminds with assimilators is just nitpicking.BeeSting12 wrote:[2018-12-16 18:10:42.997] SAY: Istoprocent/(Krokodil) "Tanner doesnt have an implant it might be hiveminds!" Edit: How about we dont dogpile on a different opinion? We are all entitled to ours. Time will tell if he will keep going down this path or not and whether he is fit to be an admin or not.
Sometimes a reasonable talk is a better method than going straight to notes and bans. Real life example would be traffic stops. As an authority figure one doesn't always have to start flexing to prove a point.

Re: Coiax
What I'm saying is that this isn't an issue with coiax, it's an issue with policy. Every admin has to enforce that policy, and he's just doing as he's told. I'd consider the map thing valid feedback, but this isn't really anything wrong with the admin himself, you're basically just shooting the messenger.Istoprocent1 wrote: Again, just saying that saying "We might be dealing with a hivemind presence" or "We have a confirmed hivemind presence" or even replacing hiveminds with assimilators is just nitpicking.

Reasonable talks are great and all that, but the note is a record that the talk happened so next time you can't just claim ignorance the next time it happens, if there is one. I'm not saying you're the type to do that, but there are people who would do that. The note won't cause you any harm unless you do the exact same thing again, in which case you'll get a ban because you're aware you shouldn't be doing it.

I feel very strongly against deleting posts in feedback threads, but holy shit.
This thread has become a complete cesspit of Istoprecent arguing with several people about his original post. It has completely devolved into topics irrelevant to Coiax, so I’m going to purge this thread of anything unrelated to Coiax as an administrator.

Re: Coiax
Okay, done.
This is quite possibly the worst thread I’ve ever had to moderate.
Stop making feedback posts that have nothing to do with the administrator. You are always free to criticize the feedback that someone else makes, but when you’re in 30 posts deep with it, maybe you should move on. I really did not want to have to purge this thread, but seriously every single post that I deleted was either someone calling each other crazy, whining about ad-hom or talking about shit with zero relevance, at all, to Coiax.
If this stream of off-topic discussion continues, the offenders will be put on post approval.
It’s time to stop.

Re: Coiax
Round 98839, ran a shitty event by giving brain trauma to everyone. Round ended in 30 minutes, because of obvious reasons. Was an antag and died to lights burning me.
Edit: Also ignores ahelps. Was asking whether saying VALID unironically counts as OOC in IC or not, such as [2018-12-18 21:30:40.461] SAY: 21:30:40.461] SAY: akatrickster/(MRPR-430) "MOJA MANLEY IS VALID!!" (Departure Lounge (107, 68, 2))
Its established that ironic uses of certain words such as metacomms (via retardation) and valid (antag token or salad) are legitimate, but the question was about illegitimate uses such as saying metabuddy unironically.

He's a good admin, willing to learn and kind but just. Always asks our opinion when he has doubts, instead of going "solo" and commiting a mistake.
While istoprocent1 opinion is to be respected, i think it comes from a point of anger instead of clarity due to the ban he thinks is unjust. I would take his reviews from now on with a grain of salt.

There is no anger or grudge from me towards Coiax. If he is in position of power, he is opening himself up for scrutiny, especially if he has made bad calls in the past as you are trying to diminish my feedback by pointing out the past.MortoSasye wrote:He's a good admin, willing to learn and kind but just. IMO needs to tone it down with votes, specifically mapvotes. Too much donut/birdboat, for one. While I personally dislike playing on box, when theres mapvotes every round it's basically never played which isn't fair to the crowd of people that do enjoy box. Basically only ever meta gets voted unless the donut brigade is online.

After getting a complaint upheld against him for asshole conduct in replying to admin helps, he has now apparently taken to stealthminning during tickets to avoid identification.
This really shows that he has no intentions of improving on the behaviors he had a complaint upheld about already.
I will be making a policy discussion thread about this as well, but I implore headmins to consider this when reviewing his admin status, as it shows he does not feel remorse for his actions, only that he was caught, and as such is now taking steps to avoid being caught.

This is really unfair criticism. There's nothing wrong with wanting to keeping a discussion strictly neutral to avoid bias or grudges when looking into tickets, and even if there was, it's not like it's hard to figure out the identity of a stealthmin if knowing their identity was necessary.iamgoofball wrote:If this is ever an issue, you have already fucked up big time.
