It's sad because fish look like fucking aliens and even I can't really sympathize with them directly but there are lots of reasons not to eat fish

Fish feel pain. We know that for sure. They remember and react to noxious stimuli and they have social structures

Fishing is totally unsustainable, you probably know this already. There's really no way to meet even a tiny amount of the demand without wiping out our oceans

250 000 whales, dolphins and seals are killed a year in fishing nets and thrown back dead as bykill. They definitely feel pain being more advanced mammals

The majority of what is caught from trawlers is thrown back dead or dying because it's not what they were trying to catch

line-caught means huge long lines of hooks that fish get caught on and dragged for miles by. many are eaten alive while stuck to the hook, often slowly. very sad.

polluted oceans mean build up of toxic metals up the food chain to what we eat is common and has already happened. small amounts of mercury never leave your system and can increase the risk of various long term health problems in the future. We're still not super sure about this but bad metals that dont leave your system is bad.

This was my issue, because I fucking love prime rib, but now that I'm responsible for my diet I'm more obsessed with cutting corners while having a healthier diet and honestly it's kinda cheaper to just cut meat outta my diet.
