Requested by cobby and this thread is in reference to a current issue.
Basically, it seems that this was not expressly outlined by the rules that "piling onto" someone else who is ick ooking is bannable. I have a personal stake in the matter because this relates to a current ban ongoing so I will leave this to discussion.

I think it's part of server culture and shouldn't be bannable. It's just a harmless joke made in good fun, and a long-standing tradition. It's one of the few happy things that give you the warm feeling of home: the comfort of ritual.

OOC will break immersion regardless of whether it is used properly or not.
If 4-5 lines of bluetext really have that much impact on your game experience then just turn OOC off and yeah there we go APC destroyed mission accomplished.

IT'S NOT PART OF THE GAME IT'S NOT IMMERSIVE!
Mute ooc you weak minded immersoid swine.
Imagine being this dumb on purpose.
If you can't tell the difference between one line of text that can easily get lost of the shuffle of the log and 1/6 of the server pop dropping what they're doing to call attention to it by shitting up the log I'm concerned for your well being.

if you ban me for saying something on your privately run server you're violating my right to free speech which protects me from government censorship
maybe I'm retarded on how these things work but what causes this discussions to actually change rules? Do headmins need to vote on it or do we take what is said inside these threads as said by headmins as policy? I still am not sure.

I got you fam

from what I understand there's nothing but the rules page that documents rules, which isn't actually updated with these sorts of rulings
the rules page is kinda long as is, maybe the silicon policy could just get a link to it's own new page and then there would be room to put in new rulings made in the policy form somewhere and not have the rules page be fucking absurdly huge? I dunno
EDIT: ok there is a post in the admin forums about rulings like this but it's not public facing

there's a stickied post in the admin forums with these policies, eg. the no muderboning admin spawned shit one is in there, or what ausops said in this thread about not making ick ock shit bannable

There’s nothing that says you (or anyone else) can’t copy the page and edit the rules. I think that would be a good idea, if for no other reason than to have some polite discourse.
