In the rare case Syndicate Base and Alien Nest ruins spawn at the same time (extremely rare since they're both lava ruin capacity-weight 20 AND they have to be accessable from the base without mining gear), I like to capture aliens and do all that cool researching, breeding, and poking and prodding as Syndicate bioweapon scientists since it's in character and thematic for a top secret black ops Syndicate bioweapon base to do (of course, thematically asking admins being 'Syndicate Headquarters' for permission to leave the base)

If there was a way I could have communicated (tried tape recorder) with them, just point them towards Nanotrasen, slap 'em on the ass and send them on their way I would do that. But of course mingling in black projects always turns out well:

Nah it's just part of the loot that can end up around the exterior of the station. You can also find stechkins that way, rarely.

The doorway architecture with the corner sprite on that mothership is nice, if we had some variation on the floors (maybe purple shuttle floors? There's already sprites for it in world builder) and less squarishly derpy walls and it would be a very respectable replacement for the 4 ayy UFO's we have now.

So! I finally had a round where all the pieces came together, and was able to build my orbital BSA weapons platform.
Not pictured is my 'living quarters' off to the side.

When I got it unlocked, and brought up the targeting display, this (miner?)'s name came up, and I whispered to myself, "If I could see his face... the ban would be worth it."

Satisfied, and ready to call it a day, I set a GPS to 'ICARUS' and put it in my pocket, ready to feel the ionizing glory of my own creation.
Then the captain finally joined (with minutes until the shuttle docked) I invited him up to the platform to take a test fire.
Of ALL the possible targets. He became curious about Icarus...
