I mean simcity 5 was very interesting on paper, but it just became a simulation from what i heard to show off the engine more than a refined game (not talking from experience)

Oh yeah. Cities Skylines may not be Simcity 4.5, but after EA crashed and burned the IP it took over the torch. It may not be perfect, but at least it is a modern version of an old classic that doesn't disappoint everyone. Though to be fair it did disappoint me a little bit. The traffic simulation isn't even that good and the rest of the game has some issues as well.

It does, its made by the same guy, last i heard.
Thats like saying Sim City and The Sims were the same game because they were both done by Will Wright.
Also the guy, Mike Diskett, was only a code monkey of the original Syndicate, he was the lead on Syndicate Wars though (hence the bit in parenthesis)
Spore was will wright, and look how much of a sellout that was compared to the prior development demo which seeing with fresh eyes looks dated but I personally would have preferred. Will wright actually quit about 2009 to do his own stuff, ill have to search up what he's doing now then.
- Typical EA practice to prioritize sales over quality, they literally made the depth killing changes on a vote and then still released promotional content hyping it up with some sciency commentary, darkspore was also a commercial failure i heard.
Spore was when Will Wright had his dream crushed in favour of googly eyes and cut corners
It was so promising, and then they gutted it and shipped the corpse for a quick buck
Nothing stands between the Evil Antagonistic-empire and inevitable commercial profit. His soul contract was rendered and now he wanders in obscurity murmuring about a realistic universal simulation, something about procedurally generated sex & dropping spider creatures to explode into gibs from orbit.

if you go into spore not knowing what it used to be it's a fun game, but yeah RIP

this was my experience with it, i managed to miss the peter molenuex levels of hype and just got a game that was p fun but not really that replayable

Caleb Robinson laughs.
Arthur Thomson catches fire!

Yeah, but now I have to re-learn orbital mechanics because the Alcubierre keeps my velocity, meaning transferring into a higher orbit can fuck me up breddy bad.
Kerbin-Duna warp left me with >14,000 m/s orbital velocity that I have to shed somehow without wasting a lot of dV.
Replaying Baldur's Gate, trilogy style, I'll try to stay away from being a thief as usual, and try something different, like being a fighter or a wizard...
Surely I'll give up on that before long and restart another thief run yet again in BG2, because thieves were justice.

Because when I last played, I just got frustrated whenever I got to interplanetary because it was an arse of a hassle and it stopped me going further than Duna or Eve. I went on a Moho flyby once but nothing more than that due to not know how to make a spessship to get there with more fuel and to land (it was a probe too, I like probes).
I didn't want to download a mod or anything either. Mechjeb just looked like too many numbers to still be able to have fun playing afterwards.
Had fun with all my Duna rovers though. Much fun. Very crash. Highly amused.
Sadly no real way to learn the orbital physics and how to plot a good course. The game's only real suggestion is to just add more fuel

You wanna learn about orbital mechanics, get Children of a Dead Earth instead. Shit is stupidly realistic and has several bookshelves' worth of reference info.
>playing xcom 2
>extraction mission: retrieve that soldier who ended up getting herself captured during a flawless ufo assault because lol bugs
>start revealed
>still manage to stealth the mission and extract in four turns without ever issuing a fire/overwatch command or taking enemy fire
I know that was incredibly lucky, but damn it feels good.

which? PCSX2?
for PCSX2 I run Timesplitters 2 great, and thats all you really need in life.
I forgot the name but yeah that's the only real PS2 emulator iirc?
R&C is fucking notoriously difficult to emulate because Insomniac did a bunch of shit to squeeze out performance from the PS2 - I think there was a significant update that helped it run normally but it's not quite done yet
Meanwhile I'm busy creaming my pants from how beautiful this ancient game looks.
I mean, even Stairfax Temperatures looks better in places than some modern shit, because apparently nobody can do fur right, but those Chozo ruins in Prime have A E S T H E T I C.
