i tried out Harry Potter RP
estimated download time: 25 minutes (why did i download Shay from AC: Rogue is vastly beyond me)
estimated play time: 5 minutes

i spawned and my good boy Erik was already in waiting for me
he told me to change my name to Something Nibbles and i did since the server immediately faced me with a CHANGE UR FUCKIN NAME box
you start in a little winter courtyard, move forward and you're in the main hall
the great hall is on the left with a big 'COME HERE FOR HOUSES' sign
now there's a tiny, maybe three or four feet hallway before you're actually In The Hall
in that hallway is a sign plastered in colours and rules of shit to do with just renaming yourself (why was this not at the spawn)
so i'm reading through it because me and erik don't wanna get super banned already
erik gets frozen. i get frozen. a temp admin runs up and yells, of course in text chat, CHANGE UR NAME FUCKERS(sic)
i ask why he does not respond
a full admin comes along and asks us to change our names actually politely
erik says 'thanks for actually being polite also why should we we're still getting in'
erik is then banned by the temp admin with the full admin watching
erik has been banned for 7 days because his last name was Nibbles

I went to a place that does MMA and has a gym to ask if I can do judo + boxing and use their gym and instead the instructors kept telling me I need to do muay thai because if some drug addicts attack me on the street I won't be able to protect myself without muay thai because the addicts will lowkick me and I won't be able to do anything to which I replied well how about this throw for instance and the instructors said well let's not imagine hypothetical scenarios here ok? Then they kept telling me I can't use their gym because there's two types of muscle fibers if you lift you'll get parasite muscle just look at the rhino and at the cheetah or look at MMA all the people there are lean ok? Then the older instructor told me that okay if I pay the younger one will give me a steroid plan and some roids to which both me and the younger instructor said "no". Then I went for a free session which was pretty great and then the older instructor kept asking me if I do heroin. I'm probably not going back to that place again.

There's a slight chance I might be homeless again come Friday. I'm living in an SLE and my new healthcare provider hasn't gotten around to reviewing my policy application yet. If they don't get their shit squared away by then I'm getting kicked out since I guess being here two weeks without insurance is kind of a no no. I'm thinking I might have to go to their office if that happens and fuck each and cunt/cock punt each and every single one of their employees

On the bright side I've still got dental coverage under my previous provider. Thanks Premera.

Doesn't pay very well and I don't know what I'm doing and the commute is 50 minutes both ways but hey I'm staying at my friends' place for free at the moment and it's something.

Funnily enough they're about 55 minutes away on the bus from me, which is how I'll be getting to and from.

Classical railguns rely on the projectile being conductive, so you couldnt shoot ferrofluid out of them (it isn't generally conductive).

Depending on what you consider a "ferrofluid projectile" It might work in something like a coil gun, but I don't think wear is one of their major limitations.

Took the bus to work today as my car was snowed in.

Get close to my destination but have to walk down a side street.
About to cross over to the other side of this street, take a couple of steps - realise theres nothing but black ice under me, nothing but black ice in front of me. So I say fuck it and tentatively skid my way back to the pavement to find another way across.

I'm looking about and I see the entire road is basically an ice rink, smooth as glass.
So I'm thinking "Hang on: glassy road, thats at a bend, muslim area - there'll be an accident here"

Not two seconds after I said that I hear the skidding of tires on the ice, look behind me and yep - dirka dirka is jihading across the ice at speed - IN MY FUCKING DIRECTION.
Maintain my cool (mainly because I was literally half frozen from waiting for the bus for half an hour prior), take a few seconds to judge his trajectory (because I've seen far too many liveleak vids of people zigging when they should've zagged), realise he's basically heading straight for me but a bit to my right so I take a few steps left just in time to see his back end spin out as he whacks head on into another car (that had a smart driver who was just edging her car along the ice moments prior).

If I'd walked only 30 seconds slower I would've been in that exact spot his back end hit the curb. Makes you think.
