Sec + Heads of staff can't use traitor gear.
Don't you just hate it once you have this WHOLE tech group on Science that gets unused despite giving some of the best stuff, yet they don't get used because security steals the traitor gear for theirselves.
Well no longer.
Simply make it so any body with an implant can't use UPLINK BOUGHT traitor gear.
This way you won't have the HoS running around duel esword in hand with a syndicate elite hardsuit.

Well I can't say for others, I don't personally use tator tot gear because someone might mistake me for said tator tot, but I do see what you mean.
Better solution, put a deconstructive analyzer thingy-mabob in security, that way security has a legitimate way to process the items, rather than just an easily broken into evidence lockup to huck it in.
Won't stop the people who are gonna run around with it anyways, but at least you'll have something to point out to them when they do it anyways. besides, I sincerely doubt anyone is gonna implement this as you've presented it.

Not true, I'm not comfortable handing traitor tech to anyone who isn't a head, or more specifically, my head. Same could be said for the scientist, or anyone really, people help themselves to the good shit when they can. Even if your idea went through as you wanted it, you'd likely just use the research to make yourself something wicked awesome and that'd be the end of it. Traitor gear is one of the rewards for being good at security. Doubly so if you got it from convincing a traitor you arrested to give you his uplink code in exchange for good treatment.

Just make loyalty implants prevent the use of using certain high end tator gear like emags, eswords or revolvers? Smaller stuff would be fine but allowing security to use tator level gear is hilariously hypocritical and overpowered.

I have a suggestion: Sec+heads are unable to use traitor gear and in turn, scientiests are unable to use any gear that comes out of the protolathe or the exosuit fabricator.
The heads+sec are motivated to donate stuff to science and science is motivated to actually share their toys with the rest of the station. Everybody wins
