This is the Police has shitty puzzles and the latter half of the game turns into a boring grind. The ending didn't offer any payoff either. It was just a "that's it?". Whatever they tried to pull off there it didn't come across well at all.

I find myself playing Overwatch these days. Not because I like it, but because I have nothing else to do
Overwatch is pretty meh, really. Blizzard has historically sucked at balance and it shows, though they get closer here than they did in the past. Technology wise it's just a game from ~2005, but it doesn't have any real competition so they can get away with that.

Another metroid 2 remake is really smooth, pretty great.

Good to play this with improved controls and a bit of actual boss design.

i played it a bit a while back and beat the first gym it's pretty alright
there's this dude in the pokemon center in the first town i think? who's in the bottom left corner who will battle you over and over and over again forever with 3 level 5 pokemon, nice little exp farm

game is so far harder than official pokemon games (gym leader was actually a super clutch fight) so that's really cool

Jumping into Firaxis XCOM now.

Thought I was playing on Normal Ironman and was barely surviving by the skin of my teeth, both in the geoscape and each of the missions. Had to deal with so much bullshit and never ever had a soldier rank higher than Lieutenant just because they were dying so often.

It wasn't until I reached the first big Alien base did I realise I had the difficulty set to Classic Ironman the whole time.

you wanna catch the rock/steel guy. the first gym is normal types which barely hurt him but the gym leader has a dude that makes all your guys pass out, so he's nice to have as a punching bag while you patch up your other guys.

the poison guy is nice to have too. starting out with him against the gym leader and applying poison can be a lifesaver

the ground guy is garbage

Another oh, not all Grozards have Arena Trap but those that do are fucking aggravating

There's no popup like in the actual games like "Grozard's Arena Trap won't let you switch!" or anything like that so it's a gamble whether or not you'll actually have to fight using a level 3 crapmon or not

XCOM2 feels pretty awesome so far, but they got a lot of things wrong in the process

-Animations now take forever and hold up the game, sometimes just stalling for apparently no reason at all
-Enemies shoot through blatantly solid objects. I once had a shootout through a floor against aliens directly above me
-Writing is corny as hell and the new characters (even Bradford) are awful. Constant cringy dicksucking of the player

They just tried too hard.

That said, I got hit with the Last Gift mission as my third mission on Commander, and that was one of the most intense fight's I've had with FiraXCOM

The best trap in Evil Genius is a bunch of corridors and doors leading in circles before your base

The AI is kinda shit in that it will spend all the time investigating those doors instead of going into your base. And if you trigger a trap on an agent but it doesn't kill them, some agents will just go into "Kill everything" mode. Which is expensive because nothing is cheap in that game

On the first island I left a bunch of meaningless doors with lock level 4 on and protected all the valuable shit with lock level 1, because agents prioritise doors to investigate by access levels.
Meaning they quickly ended up locking themselves in and then had to hack out again.

Also, no, the best trap is a square of wind traps with timed nerve gas cages that consistently keep agents trapped, unable to return but retarded enough to never pick up any heat.

Not playing it but I'm watching an LP of Life is Strange. It doesn't look like something I'd really be interested in playing but story and shit are actually really well done. I was expecting a shallow David Cage game with SJW themes but instead it's like Twin Peaks meets Super 8. Also from what I've seen so far the decisions you make actually have a meaningful impact in the game. Shit, even the LPer is pointing out some branching paths in the story they hadn't found during their previous playthroughs.

It ain't enough to make me want to play it but it's got me interested enough to keep watching it and see what happens

It upsets me to no end that between defeating my first super agent and launching the rocket literally no other super visited my island.
All the preparation to end them quickly for naught.
I should look into ways to get them to visit me. Perhaps empty out the übertrap.

Just send a whole bunch of minions out to steal money from their place and let them get caught. The agent will get pissed at the constant heat and visits your island

You don't even need to use good minions, just send a bunch of workers and they'll generate the heat

That's just the thing.
The endgame AoIs cause enough heat to make them send veterans (I prefer grabbing all five required crates per location at once), but only PATRIOT actually sent anyone.

Something is bound to go wrong pretty quickly if I know my luck.
The railgun sticks out a tiny bit past the FTL bubble, and a few square centimetres of a single adapter aren't covered by either drive. Hopefully neither will blow apart.

I've been playing a lot of random glorified tech demos for the Vive.

If any of you have a demo store near you I highly, highly, highly encourage you to go check it out. GearVR and Oculus were pretty fun, but ultimately sorta gimmicks. Being able to physically walk around in a game with super precise hand tracking is crazy though.

Sticky was right for once.

Updates are semi-regular, but usually fuckhuge.
Allegedly the devs are SJWs (or at least that's one anon's excuse for not buying it), but I have no verification of that or interest in it.
The game is unfinished, but that's to be expected of early access. However, it is playable with relative ease.
What's missing to my knowledge are pants-shittingly huge sea monsters and more story stuff. I imagine some gameplay elements will also be refined.

Also, expect minimal lethal weaponry in this thing.

If they are, it's not showing from the game
And people dislike SJWs in gaming because they push agendas and ignore gameplay and game design for it, so if they are SJWs then they're the kind that keeps it away from influencing their job

In other words, not a reason to avoid the game
It has its flaws, but that is not one of them as far as I am aware
