Captains who think they know better than the RD how to handle rogue borgs/AI and rush to the RD's office to mash the console and blow the borgs. Doubly annoying if the RD is present and the captain ignores them. Triply so if the RD was the one that announced the AI/borg(s) were rogue in the first place. If we needed your help, captain, we'd ask you for it.

I just HATE it, it is without a doubt THE.SINGLE.WORST.FEATURE in the game.

People flip their shit if some update randomizes all characters and many try to have a consistent name for whatever role they play. But Borgs are completly at the mercy and competence of the Roboticist when it comes to their names.

Yes I realize that pretty often the Roboticist is both willing and able to just give you your goddamn name, but very often they just forget it and stuff your MMI in or they give you some stupid insulting name or they just screw up your regular name.

And I fucking hate how almost nobody seems to understand how frustrating this is. Many people say "Just pray, most admins will change/correct your name." well that's simply not true because it has only worked twice for me so far during the 2 1/2 years I've played so far.

And then there're the people who say that it's a good thing, because borgs are supposed to be "punishment" jobs, completly ignoring that the vast majority of all borg players are volunteers who more often then not rush to Robotics to be borged at the start of the round.

There's literally no good reason as to why a borg cannot simply customize his own name when the MMI is inserted into the body.

It just doesn't even make sense on any level at all. You can name the robots whatever you want, but why would you ever give the power to name a player to another player?

Really the only reason this stupid rule exist is that it is valid and legit, coder and admin approved grief.

And I also know that many people are just like "Durrrr it's just a name you autistic faggit, duurrrr" and that may be true and if you don't care that's your deal, don't force others who do care to suffer for it.

But I've been ranting about this stupid rule for nearly 2 1/2 years now...

It is just so mindblowing how this is still a thing... I mean wow... really... wow... I just can't wrap my head around it or come up with a single valid reason.

For context to the rant, the captain blew a series of locked down emagged borgs while the RD was deconstructing them. Didn't say a word about it and knew the borgs were locked. Ended up with half of the robotics office blown to hell and acted surprised that "lel blow ze borgz" ended up causing more harm than good. So no, the captain should keep his mitts off the console.

People who wear gas masks. There's no real mechanical benefit to taking a gas mask over a breath mask; That is, in a scratch over two years of playtime, I have never ran into a situation where taking a gas mask (For anything other than face-hiding) over a breath mask would have affected the outcome of my round.

As an Assistant, Gas Masks make you look like a suspicious greytiding fuck.
As Engineer, the gas mask is probably obscured by your space helmet, which is worn without the suit.
As Security, the gas mask makes you look like anything between faceless mook and shitcurity. This goes double if you wear the gas mask with a helmet for Classic Shitcurity Style™
As Captain, the gas mask makes you look like a comdom, especially with your captains battle armor worn around like it's not a hot, heavy, chafes-your-balls thing.
As any role, wearing a gas mask tells me you're a powergaming faggot, who is going for the most inconsequential edge. It also tells me you have no interest in how you appear to others, which is itself something to judge you on in a multiplayer-only game.

In two years of playtime, I have never had a good experience with gas mask security. Not even once.

As Security, I taze, cuff, search the person for their ID, and forcibly put it into their ID slot if they're Unknown.

Even better if I check suit sensors, and see an Unknown in the armory, captain's office, or other high security area.

Not having your ID on and concealing your face is a perfectly justifiable reason to search someone, even on code green. It's a stealth ops' most common tactic so taking chances and ignoring it makes you a bad sec officer in my opinion. I typically 'examine' them to see if they have their PDA on their belt or anything first, but you get the idea.

Revs and cultists (And Nuke Ops, I guess.) who loot other revs, cultists, or Ops who are in critical condition and very much still able to be saved. It will screw them over eventually, and might end up destroying the entire thing. Don't do it.

Sec is one thing. As a scientist, if I see the chaplain coming at me with that book, he's going down. Brain damage keeps me from using my consoles properly which is a big no-no

Validhunters. Almost always assistants because they have NO responsibilities, have access to gain IMPROVISED weapons, and the simple numbers of a greytide can fuck up someone's day. Sadly, by now it's a way of life and I just learn to be fucking paranoid of anyone, especially greyshirts with insulated gloves and a gasmask on.
