the metrics show that the population does not drop by a significant amount (accountable for by noise) when birdshot is picked. if you want it removed from rotation then you will need something that can't be objectively disproven lke that

fikou's motivations with that PR are extremely obvious in the description. he doesn't like that it's only QM, it's not that he likes non human heads. it's only ostensibly relevant. me and him disagree on this and have discussed it several times

Station trait wouldn't work, I've gone into this in the past.

You don't want to promote random people to head of staff, so you have to let them opt in for it.

But letting them opt in for it means them having head of staff ...

You have just described the one outcome and Avenue for conflict I was talking about: the original head showing up. It’s a reputation check all the way down. If your static has the brand recognition to have people revolt for you then it’s fun, if you’re new or on a random name then you don’t.

Also QMs are allowed to be nonhuman for a couple of reasons:

1. Nepotism (It's not a long story but it's not an interesting one)
2. Because it adds a very distinct flavor to QM. Not everything needs to be consistent. Revel in the consistent inconsistency.

It's bad for the vibe and flavor but also I have more CMO hours as moth than most people do as CMO. Some of the most memorable rounds from that would not be possible if it was just a roundstart. Even if dynamic is controlled by someone else more technically-minded, if I understand right the incentives to tweak dynamic and config are still pushed by the headmins

Yes because spawning a sentient disease in the beginning of the round sucks--the problem is sentient disease itself but heavy is the best classification for the way it exists now

Very unintuitive with requiring to paint the card and the trim etc.
This is a UI problem, not one with the system itself. I'm not sure there's a wonderful reason the trimmer/painter/whatever need to be separate from the main computer (as long as tablets are limited like they are now).

Hmm "enable tgui" on input is supposed to make those normal say boxes. Maybe it only changes the *other* tgui input prompts. I think it should revert it to old chat as well
