There is a system I highly discourage using for making sprites look different on specific races (look at boxing shorts) but nothing that locks clothing to a race.

The moment planetstation (PS) mechanics becomes completely incompatible with space station 13 mechanics is the moment it needs to "move out of the house" and be its own codebase. In some ways more merging promotes more development, people see a short turn around time and lower standards and they get excited. A small insular group of people is pushing an unpopular change past the majority and pissing people off for very poor reasons. Things in the background seem to be escalating. Drama sucks and I don't want it. We're never going back to the bad old days. We need to be friends. This is so dumb.

Based on that sprite example specifically I'm kinda worried about the female sprites not having the gap between the legs, would make determining gender at a glance much easier. I don't know, maybe that's not a bad thing.
