for their default names you could use a naming system that gives them a color and a word, then let the user rename them if they don't want their stand to be called banana pink
getting them could be a wizard thing, badmin thing, or an item in mining that lets you give people stands

you might outrun the radio for now, but eventually it will get you

if an anomaly appears, scan it with an analyzer and then ping the frequency it gives you with a remote signaling device
it'll disappear and leave behind an anomaly core you can break apart for research, or attach to a signaler
