Re: [Saegrimr]John Peppercorn - Don't kill liggers?
This seems like the result of a clash of personalities and not any genuine rule breaking. Sarcasm tends to be a poor choice when dealing with admins, or positions of authority in general, but, based on what I've read, I don't believe Saegrimr handled the situation well either. Each made mistakes in ...

Re: Science is no longer balanced to roundtimes.
Observations.
Science (read not robotics) is one of the more popular jobs on the station and everyone enjoys being the traitor who releases gold slimes, blows up half the station ect ect. Sometimes it can be helpful but in general they contribute less than the cook.
Long rounds can be fun but ...

Re: *TEST* Reducing stuns adding lethals
Security, when compared to the average crew, is still exceptionally well-armed. It's only against Antags that this shifts, but that's more due to the absurdity of some of the antag choices with uplink.Atlanta-Ned wrote:Yeah! More nerfs for security! Woo hoo!

Re: Science is no longer balanced to roundtimes.
I think a large part of the issue is actually a large number of roles which are still fundamentally lacking. Too many departments are not enjoyable on their own merits and it leads to a large portion of the crew who escalate the pace of the round.

Not really related to this thread though.

Re: Science is no longer balanced to roundtimes.
I've got back into playing recently, and whilst I thought that people calling the shuttle over a stubbed toe to cycle the rounds as soon as possible (for another chance at antag) was near its worst two years ago, I didn't anticipate how truly awful it would get. A lot of intrigue and suspense has ...

Re: Is it worth the time/effort to enforce a sci fi theme?
The only creatures which I would suggest really merit a change are demons (Bubblegum, Colossus, & Legion). Ash Drakes and Goliaths are completely workable as foreign fauna on an unexplored world. I think the combination of a foreign world with foreign creatures and a more relate-able and familiar ...

Re: Solving Ashwalkers: Make them unable to use computers
Spears are one of the most robust weapons, the fuck is with this "They're only using spears" bullshit.
Yeah, spears do a ton of damage, but in actual SS13 combat they're worthless against players. Ranged is king, the melee combat is difficult due to speed at which characters move. A Miner with a ...

Re: Disallow murder sprees on Basil.
I can't think of a reason not to try this if the overwhelming majority of the Basil server population is interested.
Yes, Sybil players might swap between - but it can be made incredibly clear with the MOTD that a rule change has occurred specific to Basil. If a Sybil player breaks that rule then ...

Re: *TEST* Reducing stuns adding lethals
I'd suggest a slight tweak - rather than carrying a single charge, which would simply make the weapon tedious to use effectively give it an in hand cool-down akin to the Miner's Accelerator.
So you miss a shot, and it will automatically recharge (with an infinite charge system) in, let's say, 10 ...

Re: Solving Ashwalkers: Make them unable to use computers
I really don't see why this is necessary. The one semi-justifiable excuse is immersion, but I really just don't think it's a large enough break there to change anything. That said, if immersion is truly the focus, just turn it into a button. Otherwise in terms of balance even a single Miner would be ...
